I've been looking everywhere for this tile. I don't think someone cut up tile and put it together. I think it's out there. Can you help?

No, didn't think so. ;-) Never mind, someone was kind enough to email me a photo of the page in question. It's kind of hard to see enough detail to determine the texture of the leaf though, and there's no inflorescence on the pink one on the right, which I assume is what you are referring to. Frankly I'm not convinced that is in fact a form of N. cruenta, despite what the tag may say. I'm not seeing cruenta for mine either. The petals are more of a pale lavender blue than the typical cruenta sky blue, and the floral bracts don't have that characteristic in-turned scoop shape that cruenta inflos have. And again with the leaf texture and growth habit-- every verified true species cruenta I've seen has leaves as tough as rhino hide, and is somewhat stoloniferous as well. This is neither. And I've never seen a real cruenta that blushed pink in the cup. My guess is that a lot of what you're seeing as that species has been misidentified or is of hybrid origin. Much as I'd love my plant to be a new species, Kerry, I'm starting to get some indications that it probably is a hybrid. I did some crosses with it, and although they're still small, the seedlings are showing a degree of variability and unexpected pigmentation that points more to mixed ancestry. Comments (65)I think raee put her finger on what I found "off" about it. It would pair up very well with a warm wood stained finish, its the white and the dark brown tile that is just a bit jarring to me. Having said that, romy718's photo of the white cabinets/dark backsplash does look lovely, so who can say? Choosing a backsplash is hard, I didn't realize it until we had to pick ours. We brought home several samples of tile, all which looked like they would be perfect for us in the showroom. Until we got them home, under our lighting conditions that is. Then, we found a lot of them were not even close to working for us. Finally, finally, after many trips back and forth, we found the right one. Take your time, no rush to get the backsplash done. Bring home samples, see how they look in your kitchen, with your lighting. But, when you do finally decide, get what you love and don't worry so much about what others think....See MoreNooooo! Comments (8)sometimes a little knowledge is an expensive thing...like hanging out on this forum lol! getting my inspiration from femmelady's kitchen, I used 4x4 and brick-style and tumbled mosiac rather than square and polished onyx mosaics in my previous kitchen. They *are* pretty, aren't they?! Maybe you won't have to since yours will be polished, but I used Miracle 511 Sealer and Enhancer (all in one bottle) before they were installed. The enhancer part kept the "wet look" that I liked better but I bet the polishing already does that for you. YMMV. I included a link to an old thread on onyx.
