I agree, it looks good the way it is. If you just finished painting the cabinets give it some time and see if the current look grows on you before you change it.

I agree. What is on there is a wash, and you can see parts of the real stone so, it looks real, and not a fakey painted look. It also seems to go well with your countertops. I would leave it alone. It looks fine, with the cabinets and counters.

Agree - looks beautiful the way it is. ETA: you made great choices with the uppers and lowers - love the cream + dark blue. I think the existing colour of the backsplash works well to tie in your wood floor + range hood.

It’s quite yellow. I feel like it makes the counter look more ’muddy’ than it is? Ignore the crappy plate covers, I’ve not figured out what to do with those yet :)

Looks good as is. The only thing I might try is painting that strip of the hood white, to tie it into the upper cabinets. Paint a strip of paper and double sided tape it on. Step back and see what you think.

you don't need to match w/the upper cabs. it's already painted once, doing so again could make things worse. It looks fine the way it is. the warmer tones actually work w/the wood in the hood and flooring. it doesn't make anything look muddy. it actually gives some dimesion.

leave it.

When the day comes, remove it and replace w/a tile you like.

I suspect because you see it up close, you’re naturally hyper focusing on it too. It honestly looks fine in these photos, even up close. It really gives a nice warmth that compliments all the colors, including the wood. If you breakdown and do something, please consider drastically thinning your paint so that you’re barely adding solids, but only lightening it.

Agreed. It looks great!! Leave it until you can replace with something you love.

Angel 18432 - We had our painter spray them for us. He used SW Trim Enamel. Uppers are SW Alabaster and lowers are SW Rock Bottom.

Thank you for all of your input! Maybe I'll live with it for a few more weeks and see what I think. I do think, if I still paint it, that thinning the paint just to lighten it is a good idea. I love the texture of the stone, I just don't love the aged yellow I see in it :)

That's probably the best thing I've seen done to those little ledger stones, by the way. It's a great textural addition.
