Balcony Door Window Treatment Vote or Opinion
Comments (29)Another thing Squirrel, My bedroom's paint color is not as deep and pretty as your beautiful virtual. The paint color varies. Sometimes it is a happy color and when the sun enters the room with all the blinds open, I like the color then. Other times it is a lemony color that I always wish would be a tad deeper like your picture with a tad less lemon in it. I guess paint colors look different in different lighting and pick up what is around them also. I am learning so much about decorating. The Linen blind color gets more brown in it at night (it is a pretty color in the day time more creamier and not so dark with the ash color in it) and in my mind clashes with the paint color at night so I want the blinds covered at night so despite loving this treatment for the day time, I would want two sheers on each window to be able to open them up during the day time and close them at night and for coverage since one sheer will not cover the duet 3/4 size pleats. Most likely these sheers will have to be semi-sheers for more coverage (that is why I looked at the Sensations Crinkle Sheers and the Emma Lace Sheers since I did not like how the regular sheers I bought home covered my Duet blinds so poorly). The white Emma lace really covered the windows the best but the white was a little bright that maybe is not showing up in the pictures despite how pretty it is. The Sensations has a nice soft white but I still am thinking of putting a lace valence on the door since I love the Emma valence and pattern. But this wonderful picture has given me ideas for my balcony door and that I am so happy about. Thank you....See MoreAwkwardly places windows - window treatment suggestions?
Comments (18)We had Silhouettes in our last Philly house and I didn't love them. Do people not like those wood slat blinds anymore? Have they gone out of vogue? I do like the idea of a fabric blind a lot. Hopefully we can find some options that will work with the paint color. So hard!! Graywings - the paint color is Wedgewood Gray - we've used it before (with wood blinds now I think about it) and love the color. This is the 3rd house we've had a Wedgewood Gray bedroom in. We're such creatures of habit. Lol. Here it is in our Hoboken house. Do you like it with these blinds? Or not enough color?...See MoreWindow treatments for a NON window treatment type girl
Comments (14)We are not window treatment people either, but have started to add some as we've reno'd/decorated a few of the rooms in our house; two bathrooms and our office. They really do help to finish off a room. That said, we're not covering our kitchen bow window, or the DR bow window, though I might consider something for the DR window at some point--just for the window panes themselves, not to cover the whole bow-unit. We used Hunter Douglas' Designer Screen Shades in the Roman Shade style (ours are mounted inside the frames becuase of our window style/frame depth). The shades are very clean-lined and range in sheerness. With the sheerer weaves/fabrics, you can see outside with them down and they allow a lot of light in....See MoreHelp! Slider and Windows in Master Bedroom
Comments (15)Still trying to decide on a window treatment for my master bedroom. I have attached a photo of my dining nook area (sorry the table and chairs are in the way) with the window treatment that is on it. This bay window with sliders is the same as in the master bedroom On this window treatment I have cellular shades with a vertical cellular slider and cornice valance and stationary panels on either side. I think it would have looked better with a slightly textured cellular to give it a softer and more cohesive look. I think it has too structured of a look for the bedroom. I also think it might have looked better with a panel in each of the corners on either side of the slider, but I have to live with it for now. I would like comments/opinions on this same particular treatment for the bedroom as it is now, but with different fabric on draperies and different shades. What would you change about it, or do you like it the way it is? I have attached a photo of the bedroom furniture to give you an idea of the style of it. (Awaiting correct bed framing of side rails and footboard.) Oh, and the three little windows above the bed have room darkening cellulars on them now. Would it be o.k. to leave them as is, or should they match whatever shades I put on the slider area windows?...See MoreFunkyart
