I have my sofa and coffee table, now I am stuck....
Comments (11)You should check and see if there are any auctions near you. We have a wonderful antique auction near me and my friend has snagged some of the coolest rugs for as little as a 200.00. I had no idea the auction existed until she told me. Thought I would share. Here is one of her many various rugs. They are original and come from turkey, India, Bali etc. Super cool....See MoreAm I as crazy as my DH thinks I am? LR quandry.
Comments (32)I have not scheduled surgery yet and am ignoring the suggestion of having them both done at once. When I was a newly graduated RN I worked ortho for a year ( some disasters but hips have come along way) and my mom had a horrible hip replacement outcome, so I am putting it off for as long as I can. Don't wait so long you are too out of shape ... it's best done while you are still reasonably spry with muscle strength left for rehab instead of totally crippled and weak. And before you have wrecked the surrounding support muscles and tendons compensating for the pain and lack of mobility. (SO has a prosthetic knee, his brother has 2 of them, and another brother has a hip replacement he loves). Yes, it's come a LONG ways, even using 3-d imaging and custom manufacture of the prosthetics if needed. They can build a copy of the joint, figure out exactly how things need to be altered and dry-fit the prosthesis without ever lifting a scalpel....See MoreAm I being too picky about the details of my reno?
Comments (19)Wow, it is good to know that lots of people would have 60k for their kitchen renos these days. And they say we are heading towards a recession. Since I spend about 50k, I guess I would be below the average group according to Sophie's estimation. Of course one need to consider the size of the kitchen. I think 60k would be for a larger kitchen. My kitchen is considered medium size. I live in Canada so I don't know what the average money spend on kitchen is. Well like I've mentioned before, this is my first kitchen reno and I learned a lot from it. I had never thought to look below the cabinets at the showroom. Unfortunately at the showroom, they did not have the models of the kitchen I chose. They had other styles but it never occur to me to look below the cabinets. Of course they don't have on display the type of breakfast island I have chosen. That definitely wasn't an option. According to the "pros" here, I guess I am a picky customer. Now that I've learned from my mistakes, I would definitely advised my friends about them. I have a few of them, waiting for my reno to be done and see whether they will do it too. I do appreciate all you taking the time to comment and share your opinions. Hopefully, when people read these posts, they will be more aware of the "issues" when they tackle their future renovations....See MoreCan I mix this coffee table with my couch and dining table?
Comments (35)groveraxle, Thanks for the photoshops. That actually has me back to considering the light grey concrete one the most as it seems to match the overall asthetic better than others I am considering. May not be as thin as what I would prefer but the singlular central base feels like a good compromise....See MoreAnna Madz
