I used Behr Ultra Stain Blocking Paint and Primer in One; color off white, a year and 1/2 ago. Easy to apply, great quality. I painted my entire home off white: matte for walls and ceiling, satin for doors and trim. I have used BM and SW paint in the past, and like Behr better. Every who sees my home always ask what color white I used, as it looks great. Any white you use will look different throughout the day due to your own lighting and different amounts of sunlight. The most important action in a great paint job is your prep work. We fixed all cracks, nail pops, lightly sanded all doors and moldings, washed and rinsed all walls, ceilings, doors and moldings. We used high quality brushes and rollers and took our time. We even got a 10% military discount from Home Depot as I am a retired US Air Force Captain. Best of luck in your paint journey.

Yes prep is a big part of painting but before that the lighting is a huge part of choosing any color . I like LEDs 4000K everyhwere they mimic daylight so allow colors to stay true all the time. I like one white for everything walls and ceiling matte and trim either satin or semigloss in a really contemporary space you can even do high gloss trim .As for the actual color the only way to choose that is to get poster boards paint them with 2 coats and move them around from space to space at all times of the day . Everything you have in a space affects the wall color so testing in your home is the only way to choose

Your walls will act as the backdrop for your art and décor and the furnishings you choose.

The colors you love should dictate the neutrals you incorporate into your upholstered items, area rugs, bed linens, flooring if it is not wood. backsplash, countertops . . .

The white should be the white that works best with your neutrals.

You also have to recognize that bright, light whites will suffer the most from areas without good lighting. Something with a bit more color/weight won't gray out as easily as a brighter white.

I used a bright white on white color theme in my home when I lived in San Diego. The color was Devine Color Icing. I had huge windows and every day was sunny.

I now live in Central Pennsylvania and still have a lot of large windows, but the days are not consistently sunny and bright. The walls of my home were painted white when I moved in. I am renovating one room at a time, but I notice how often my white looks drab and lifeless with the lack of bright sunshiny days. I am using white trim, but not white walls. I picked an off white/light neutral for my main living area. Something with enough substance to stand up to the overcast days and maintain it's character. (BM Mocha Cream).

The white that I am using for walls and trim is a Benjamin Moore Color match to Devine Icing. It is a bright white without any gray undertones. It actually has a touch of orange vs yellow, so it looks very clean. It works wonderfully with the purples and teals that are prevalent in my décor.

My neutrals and my white would not work in my sister's home. She loves fall colors, muted greens and deep golds and oranges. My neutral looks pink next to her colors and my white is way too stark next to her muted colors.

It is kind of like picking the right white shirt to go with an outfit. One white may look too blue white, one may look yellowed, another too creamy or too pink. It isn't that the white shirt you own is a bad white, it just isn't the white that works with the new outfit you bought. It may be perfect with a different outfit.

Define your outfit first.

Just confirming what Patricia said. What looks good in one house doesn't mean it will

look good in yours. Lighting, flooring, furnishings - direction of the house all make a difference.

Agree with testing in your house- my first house in GA we used BM china white for all the trim - in my current midwest house SW Dover White is the right one - i think it really depends, it is not an insignificant improvement so you want the color to be right

OMG so confusing. Attached are two pics. One with flash, one without. Interestingly enough, the colors will not bump up against any backsplash or fireplace tile so I don’t have to have an exact match, if you will. The pics attached are where my refrigerator will go. I think the alabaster and Greek villa (which I love) are too warm toned. What do you think???

I do not see any pictures but be awar colors on monitors are all over the map you still need to do the poster boards to find what works in your space . I am curious to know why you want white I think this is something you need to reallythink about maybe a hint of color is what youer sapce is crying for , I use this cut 25% when looking for a neutral but not too much color. IMO a lot more neutral than beige , gray or even white sometimes
