How to dress wide short corner windows?

My house is older which is why we have so many awkward wide short windows. I don’t think it would look good if I put wall art under the window due to the height so I was thinking of dressing the windows. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

That's a nice spot. Can you push your desk out further into the room and add a credenza on the window wall?

IMO just the blinds is all you need since the windows are so high you could do just solar shades to control the light and maybe heat and then yoi get to keep the whole view That desk seems very close to the wall why is that.Can you post some pics of the rest of the space

Snbtwins, your best bet is decide the length of the rod, where you want the panels to start and stop. Since you are having the panels custom made, I would suggest you use that measurement to figure how many lengths or half lengths of fabric you want the panels to be. When I make panels I prefer them to be at least double the width they were cover. Since you will not be closing them, that would be from the edge inside edge of the window trim to the finial. Measure from arrow to arrow and double (or 2.5 times) to get width of finished panel.

Agree with the white blinds idea, but think long curtains on this window are ill advised. I would do a soft roman shade mounted inside the window trim. Right now your window molding extends almost as wide as the available wall space, and because of this your current rod is actually a tad shorter than the width of the molding. An inside mount would look cleaner and better, and would not fight so much visually with the AC unit mounted above the window.

Hey There: Longer Curtains don't really make your window appear bigger - it will look pretty funny at the end. Beth H. has the best suggestion...with the trim you make your window appear bigger. And if budget allows it, replace them with taller units...will make a huge difference in the feel of the room. Good Luck with your project.

My husband and I just moved the desk last night and we were exhausted so we went to bed. I will move if forward more so it’s away from the wall! How many inches do you suggest I move it? I used to have it positioned like this but I got tired of that angle and I like moving things around because I feel like this room so awkwardly laid out
