Is it okay to have a window in your shower?

e purchased replacement windows for our house and when they were installing the window in the kids bathroom they showed us that the window had shifted/titled and the frame was damaged as a result as water had gotten in. The window was located on the end wall of a shower/tub combo. We had already been planning to renovate that bathroom and were told by our contractor that whatever design we choose, the window should not be in the shower - either brick it up, move the shower to the opposite end or do a smaller shower with storage or such under the window. We are going up with a custom stand up shower and no tub in the new design. We would really prefer to keep the original layout and the window for several reasons including not wanting to relocate the electrical, the narrowness of the bathroom and the desire for a large shower and double vanity (we have three kids). I see loads of photos on house where there is a window in the shower. Is this a bad idea?
