:) Really is no action here. On to better things? no doubt... so sad for a forum once so lively... none the less will make an occasional appearance.

Were suppose to get 6-11 inches of snow through tomorrow Jan 17th, 2022 Perhaps something will be worthy of photographing....

You are correct on the activity. I wonder where everyone has gone? Garden Junk was what brought me to Garden Web years ago, When I moved to a new platform, I didn't move along with it. Life got in the way. I just found it here today and signed up with a new name since my old name was used (yup - snooze ya lose!) I'm hoping it will get going again. I'm going to be working on our new garden and garden junk is going to be something I'll be doing a lot of in the upcoming year.

I hope you survived the storm. Our totals went from 8-12" forecasted to receiving a grand total of 5" and a nice covering of ice that wasn't fun to scrape off the vehicles.

I've poked around many, many a day on the forums here, and finally made an account today. I would love to get an herb garden started this year. My interests are in tea and medicinal herbs, succulents and cacti, and trees. However, more than anything I enjoy surprises- so add "random/grab bag/any" to the list, too! I prefer indoor planting / potted planting, if this makes a difference. (But, I'm up for anything!) Sad story time: When I was about 11, I had to move across the country about 2 months after I had 3 tiny maple trees start growing in a long trough-like pencil holder in my windowsill. My parents said I couldn't take them with us, even though I said I would hold them in my lap the entire way there (in the car!) I loved my "tiny trees". I planted them in my favorite hiding spot, but when I moved back to the area, construction had destroyed where I planted them. Ever since then, I've wanted to grow more trees but just can't seem to get them going... :( But, that hasn't stopped me from trying!! Therefore, I am also looking for tips, advice, and suggestions on how to plant and maintain any seeds or plants provided me. Thank you so much for considering me!! hi falldaisies =) i am guessing this is directed at me, and you want me to change the blurb beside your name? its hard to fit too much info in there, if you would summarize some general wants ...or what you want you want the blurb to say- i can edit it. it is best if its short and sweet, just a general idea of what you want. right now yours says - falldaisies zone 6 (flowering bulbs, artichokes & blueberries dwarf fruit trees indoors/citrus) if theres something else you want me to write there, let me know, but lets keep it short. then have you figured out how to edit your "seeds wanted" list? thats the place for all the specifics. just list everything that you want there, then when someone goes to your page they can read all that. its good to have a nice long want list, so dont be shy about listing everything, often times people will look over it and might even surprise you with extras from your want list. GW is not very intuitive with its layout, but at the bottom of every page theres a large grey area with many links. click on "member pages" and then edit your exchange list...from that page you can edit all your info and fill out your have and want lists.

I found out that they are going to raffle off the hypertufa creations, the rain barrel, and a few other donated items. Oh, and there are also going to be boxed lunches available, which is great because going out for a bite would be very cold work this weekend!

@craftygardeninggnome-It's like "P O O F". It has been like it for long while esp after GW was sold....But really had a good run til then. I have been downsizing in gardening beds in way of less annuals and replacing with hopefully long lasting perennials. A few years didn't do much cuz of health. It's the best lately coming out of winter-which sparks the season for me. Getting ready to ws a few through the cold, winter duldroms. I do garden junk too, but mostly reusing. Even with garden junk am not real creative, lol.

We did get over 12+ inches with it dipping to single digits for the next few days. I read some east coast will be getting lots of snow this weekend. Stay warm and safe!

There are other forums here on Garden Web which have much more traffic. Annuals, Perennials, Landscape, Trees, Shrubs etc. If you just want general chat try The Kitchen Table. I wasn’t clear as to what response your original post wanted since there was no question or discussion point, only a quote and an uncaptioned photo.
