Need suggestions for updating fireplace exterior
Comments (1)You've got a great space there - lots of potential! You could extend the "mantle" to either side of the surrounding wall - make it a big wall with a seat - the reality of stuffing furniture in either of those corners is unlikely and the asymmetry of it could be fun! Love the look of this great wall with a wooden shelf holding gorgeous art above the fireplace. Comments (2)I also think it is a great looking surround. I would change the white tile out, to stone perhaps (granite, limestone, bluestone) but I think the current stain is easy to work with with other finishes. That said, I do like a stone fireplace when it is well crafted - not with big mortar lines or fake river rock or other aesthetic sins....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
