I found a local retailer who can do custom size rugs (even custom variations of rug patterns in store with colors we match / pick out). I checked this one out. Was thinking I could even change the black to blue? But I kind of like the black for contrast. Or is that too many colors? Or should I go for more COLOR? I need COLOR IN MY LIFE! But, I could do that with pillows, art, and accessories..... ? I am planning on doing automatic shades, not drapes, in this room.. prob neutral so won't add much color. Also, don't mind the outdoor furniture that's all bunched up against the window... and I just put the orange pillows on the sofa to try and get some color going for reference. You all are so much help!

It's virtually impossible to tell you what size without room and furniture measurements. But I can tell you first hand it totally ruins the room when the rug is too small (or too big) so I would recommend you wait until you can get in the house and measure it. At LEAST 8 x 10. You will know the floor is there, and so will everyone else. A rug too small looks awkward, and visually shrinks and clutters a space,

Have you ever tried the armoire over on the other wall (the guitar wall)? Either in the corner or straight on the left one? It seems overpowering for by the staircase. And you could arrange the room nicely around it ... a cohesive look. If it’s not an option, I’d put the blue rug more under your sofa so that isn’t sticking out so much towards the entry area. Then do the cowhide. I’d want an entry rug, but I wouldn’t do a rug leading up to the armoire. I think it would all look a bit disconnected and chaotic. Another option is playing around with the living room arrangement and having the rug turned the other way. For example, moving the sofa to where it’s facing the side window. I can’t tell room sizes for sure, so that may be another thing not feasible. I think your cowhide would look good layered. Not exactly like this, but just showing an idea of layered rugs.
