In need of discontinued tile…Durango Sand 12x12

I am in need of Durango Sand 12x12 tile (by Florim USA) which was discontinued from Floor & Decor around 8 years ago. Can also use a larger size and cut it. Might anyone have some they would be willing to part with?

So dyelots change and even if someone had a few left over chances are they are not the same dyelot as you have can you maybe explain a bit about the need for the tile.

Having to replace a shower pan and the GC said they can probably just take out the bottom row of wall tile along with the floor tile. Unfortunately I only have 2 wall tiles left from that project and need about 8-10 more. Contacted the manufacturer and they are completely out of this line. Sooo, now trying to match color. The one in the photo is close and have another one arriving Friday. My whole bathroom (separate tub surround and floor) is done in this tile, and I dont really want to take on that large of a project right now.

Does it have to stay straight? If this were my space I would dig the whole thing out and then change the flow so that there was a path that curved around areas with rocks and/or plants. Having something at the end would be a big improvement, there are many things that could be added to create a destination - a bench, a vine covered trellis, some form of garden art, or a fountain would be a great addition. I had a straight dirt footpath along the front of my property and I changed it to a path that curved around some flower beds and trees. My space is larger than yours but I think you could do something similar, perhaps a stepping stone path curving around small groups of stone with a few plants tucked in. Here is my path in the spring when the daffodils were blooming: I think with some creativity and elbow grease you can turn your little path into a thing of beauty!

Jonathan King, thanks so much for posting pics of your finished shower. So helpful to us, as we plan to use the same Florentine for shower walls with a gray 2x2 mosaic floor (Shades by Crossville in Mist.). Question: what size are your shower tiles? We are trying to decide between 12x24 and 10x14. Would love to hear pros/cons for each size from you or anyone else. Thanks!

Well, as luck would have it our local tile guy has a wonderful selection of, well, tile. I stopped in there and have chosen.... drum roll...... carrera 12x12 porcelain tiles by American Olean. Very lovely and work beautifully with the pebble tile, paper and the paint colors. He's coming out Saturday to measure and we'll order and hopefully there will be a functioning, beautiful shower by mid-July. I am so much more excited by this than by the surround, which I was not at all excited by but rather resigned to by the lack of grout cleaning. But this stuff needs little grout and it's way higher on the aesthetic scale than the fiberglass surround, obviously. Maybe it serendipity that the dumb thing didn't work out? I even get to incorporate some pebble tile into the shelf nook that we're building in... thank you to the GW'er that suggested that idea! Good good. It'sall: looks like you have 12" tile, too? I like it. Thank you and everyone else for taking the time to help me get this sorted out.

LL, I just saw your new post. Sorry for the delay--I haven't been on that much. I think your window sill idea sounds fantastic! That will look really great. As a contrast to all the people who are trying to talk you out of perfectly good tile because they're so caught up in a different look: Last night, I was tired. I had made duck legs and was pouring out the separated fat before reducing the sauce. As I often do, I poured the fat in a container from the recycling. Didn't notice the holes in the bottom! So there's duck fat with port wine and cherry juice running all over the tile counter. I thought, well, here I go, I'm going to find out how hard it is to clean grout! Feh. What problem? Cleaned up as easily as stone. Again, no sand in the grout, which I agree is a pain. Sanded is perfectly cleanable, but not pleasant. The glass idea was clever, but please don't do it! Glass nicks very easily, and you can also shatter the corners. It's fine for an eating or serving counter, but is not a good material for heavy work. And that's counter glass. Just regular tempered sheet glass wouldn't work at all.

When customers come in with this issue, the best option is to select mosaic that works with the rest of the space. Use the mosaic for the shower floor and the foot or so around the walls that need to be redone.

We used small decorative mosaic tiles above. Maybe I could try to find square tiles similar to the floor tile shown here in a coordinating color?

Hadn’t thought about that before. Thanks for your suggestion.

IMO once they start removing tile in a shower the waterproofing is often damaged so next year you will be replacing the whole shower , do it now and be safe .BTW the shower accent tile is adated look and that shower pan I assume was leaking so who knows what is behind those walls
