Help needed waterproofing porch over basement room
Comments (0)hi and thanks in advance for your advice: We have a 12 x 14 roofed screen porch over a basement room as part of a recent addition. Partly by plan and also because there was a parting of the ways with the contractor, we now have an OSB floor. The intention is to put tile or terazzo. How do I go on from here... 1 waterproofing I assume that I need something that will be glued on so that we don't put holes in the OSB. Recommendations? 2 once waterproofed, can we put tiles on top or will it need a layer of cement board between waterproof layer and tile? Does anyone have experience with Ditra or Noble products in this type of work?...See MoreLiving Room Make Over Help Please
Comments (4)Have you tried the canvas over/near anything besides sofa? What if it were smaller/stapled over canvas frame for over fireplace... or on the wall its size [where furniture is]. Is that your tv on the fireplace? what if it went on window wall.... use the bench, painted a muted color you like...or next to aquarium [is it?] for lookers......See MoreLiving room redecorating. need help making my room look cozy and inter
Comments (8)Center the sofa on the far wall (where the TV currently is) and put the end tables on each side. Get matching table lamps (26"-30" tall) for the end tables. You can put a larger piece of art over the sofa. This will address the immediate focal point as you enter this room. Keep the loveseat where it currently is, centered on the wall between the windows (if there's enough room when you move the sofa). Place the coffee table in front of it. If you need to scooch it down a bit that's fine, but I generally like to try centering off of architectural features first. You're looking at an arrangement something like this: You can then purchase a TV cabinet/console that will go on the wall opposite the loveseat. There might then be enough room to get a pretty side chair to angle in to the seating area. With this arrangement, you address conversation needs and also TV viewing. I wouldn't do an accent wall. Just keep all of your paint light and neutral. The carpet you have is pretty ... if you like it keep it. It looks as if you've already pulled some colors from it for your throw pillows. I would remove your valances, you don't need them with your fabric shades. Pretty furniture and a nice start to your room!...See MoreNeed help trying to anchor the room and make it feel less sterile
Comments (35)Have you considered painting that entire fireplace wall in a super hot orange/red glossy color to match the oxidized copper? Would be a show stopper! Or you could go to the other side of the color wheel for a contrast to it. You don't seem to be taking advantage of all the floor space. Larger, more colorful, fun, boho rugs would encourage spreading out the seating a bit more. The beige chesterfield seems a bit formal for the relaxes Bohemian family feeling you're after. Something a bit more slouchy would set a more relaxed tone....See Morehappyde10
