Rug for Family Room
Comments (1)Here is a site that helped me pick the right size rug http://www.mydesignsecrets.com/2009/04/28/how-to-measure-for-an-area-rug/ Good luck!...See MoreFamily Room Area Rug?
Comments (10)What makes your room look cluttered is the ginormous sectional. The speakers and what not around the TV also don't help. You need a very large rug which has color and pattern. Everything is blue and gray so what you need is actually a rug with warm colors with just a touch of cool colors to save this room from itself. Also lots of art on the wall, most of it very large, to take away from the institutional look of what you have so far. I'd also recommend a glass and metal coffee table in order to have something that isn't dark and dense in this room. Drapes for the window would also help, and a floor lamp on the far end and a table and lamp at the near end if you have the room so you can turn off those harsh overhead lights....See Morearea rug for family room
Comments (7)I'd also recommend sticking with a somewhat neutral area rug. I've been looking at replacing my area rug and have found some nice options at Target.com with their Project 62 line. You didn't mention a budget, however they're all reasonably priced. If you purchase a rug from there and you don't like it in your space it's easy to return it back to the store. I'll include two photos of the ones that might look nice in your space. Also, just throwing this out there...have you thought about painting your brick fireplace white? :) My sister painted her fireplace white and it looks fresh/bright. Good luck!...See MoreNeed to know what size Area rug for family room
Comments (2)At least 2 feet wider than the sofa, maybe more. If a reversible chaise it is probably on legs so should go entirely on the rug. If it sits flat to to the floor, the rug should slip under the front 1/3 of the bench part and be entirely under the chaise section. Is there other seating that should be on the rug: chairs, coffee table, sofa table......See MoreFlower Girl
