Long kitchen with dining layout

HELP!!!! im not good at this and designing my first home kitchen.

Current space is 8m long and 4 m wide. i am intending to have both kitchen island and formal guests dinner table as seen in photo attached. ive allocated space for a large dining table (218cm long) , added clearance and then an island of length 2.4m long.

im worried that ive allocated too much space for a large dinner table. i am leaning on reducing the dinner table space (10cm) , also reducing 10cm clearance on each side of dinner table so getting 30cm space and adding it to kitchen counter to extend its length to 2.7-2.8m

i worry that current island length will be overshadowed by dinner table where i want island to be the magnifying element in kitchen.

We would like to help, but we need more information.

First, do you have a sketch of the entire floor the Kitchen is on? A sketch lets us see how the Kitchen relates to the rest of the home. It doesn't have to be to-scale, but it should accurately show how the rooms relate to each other and should include all interior & exterior doors. In addition, it will help us see how traffic flows in, around, and through the Kitchen. Label the front entry and family entry. The family entry is usually a garage or side entry, but it might not be. It's helpful to know which door you use to bring in groceries.

Regarding the layout above...
1. Is this a remodel or a new build?
2. If a remodel, are you on a slab or do you have a basement or crawl space under the Kitchen?
3. Is this an enclosed space (i.e., walls on all four sides)? Or are one or more sides open to other rooms?
4. Are there any doors/doorways/windows on any of the walls?
5. Do you have a separate Dining Room? I'm assuming not since you said you want a large Dining Room table.
6. How many people does the Dining Room table need to seat on a regular/daily basis? How often does it need to seat more and how many?
7. Could you answer a few questions for us (these questions let us know how the Kitchen needs to function):
- What are your goals? E.g., more counter space, more storage, seating in the kitchen (island? peninsula? table?), etc.
- What is your family composition? Adults? Children? Age ranges of children? Current? Future?
- How many kitchen workers are there? Cook(s)? Cleanup? Helpers? Now? Future? (E.g., if you have young children, plan for them to be helping out very, very soon as you begin to teach them to help out and, eventually, cook. Also, plan for them as teens for "sizing" since that will also arrive much sooner than you think!)
- Do you or anyone in your home cook? (No, this is not a facetious question. Some people do not cook and their kitchen is a show place only. If that is what works for you & your family, that's fine! We just need to know that.)
- How do you see your kitchen used?
  -- Just for cooking/cleaning up?
  -- Children doing homework while you cook?
  -- Party place?
  -- Something else?
- Do you entertain a lot? If so, formal? Informal?
- Do you want your kitchen to be a "hang out" place? Parties only? Everyday?
- Where are you flexible?

Rosie, The main entry is in the front of the house. There is another entry through the garage (not shown) and through the two sets of doors to the right of the kitchen. This will likely be the entry I use most often with two small children. The only bearing walls are the exterior walls and the wall between the kitchen and living room. This is a conversion of the original kitchen; I've attached a sketch (to scale) of what existed in our home (there has been some demo already). Buehl, The half wall is there to block the view of dishes and other kitchen mess from the dining room. I would be fine with using the dining room for most of my meals, but I would love for the babies (my toddler and baby to arrive soon) to be able to eat in the kitchen, as they can make quite a mess! All, I am just wondering if there are any island ideas or other thoughts. Also, I am eliminating the cabinets on the wall between the half bath. The fridge will be on the wall by the basement stairs, and the double ovens are actually going to be under the range (1) and 1 in the peninsula. Again, I'd love any thoughts or other ideas. We want to order cabinets asap!

Hey, thanks for the response. The sinks don't necessarily have to be far apart - I've seen some kosher kitchens that just have a double bowl sink with one sink for meat and the other for dairy. But I would strongly prefer to have two separate sinks (again, that third sink could go if I can't fit it) with separate prep space - at least 120 cm of counter space for each side. Having the oven in the middle makes a clear delineation between the meat side and the dairy side, but that's not an absolute requirement.

Karen, have you tried cross-posting this in the kitchens forum? You might get more responses. You could even try home decorating forum because many of the regulars there have redone kitchens and although theirs are larger in most cases, they often have brilliant ideas!
