Not familiar with the alternate sink, but if that's THE sink, I'd look for something you could rough in by sitting it on top of the sink cabinet or even not putting that cabinet in and using a utilitarian wash tub there until the sink arrives. That's something pretty special, so I would make do temporarily but not settle. If you find something else you love and that works with everything else as well or better, that's different -- but I wouldn't settle.

AGGGHHHHH!!!!! When the heck did polished brass become "gold"? This drives me CRAZY. I have lived through true "gold faucets" - typically in bathrooms and typically VERY expensive from Sherle Wagner. They were 24kt gold plated and often featured swans as faucets for vanities and tubs. VERY OTT! I would not use polished brass with polished chrome as the chrome is so cold looking. What does work is polished or brushed nickel faucets with polished brass pulls. That is what I have in my own kitchen.

It's not going to darken. Did you see an actual sample of the floor? You know that all pieces of wood take stain differently. If the grain is very tight the stain will not penetrate in the same fashion. I usually get a box of the flooring and lay it out in the room to make such an important decision.

I understand that it's not possible to accurately match colors from a computer screen. My main reason for posting was in hopes that someone else may have installed the same faucet before and be able to provide a recommendation for matching cabinet hardware.
