Under Sink Reverse Osmosis Drinking water systems?

Hello fellow Houzz friends. Hoping you all are healthy and thriving! Recently remodeled, and looking for liberation from Sparkletts delivery service. We are in the market for an under sink filtration system, for drinking water. All price points considered. Was contemplating Costco’s eco water system but found limited reviews. Could anyone provide suggestions on what worked for them? I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks :)

Hi Britt, Did you ever end up getting the Reverse Osmosis Drinking System? I am sorry no one ever responded. We are trying to get rid of our Sparkletts too!

Under sink R/O systems are as common as rabbits and many of them are just re-branded versions of the same thing.

The better question is why do you need an R/O system at all? It's a lot of ongoing expense and maintenance - not to mention wasted water - if all you really need is a carbon filter. What is in your water that you are trying to remove.

It's interesting that Sparkletts doesn't actually say what their water is: Is it carbon filtered? Is it R/O?

It's obviously tested to various regulations - but so is most municipal water.

I'm guessing you are not getting R/O water from Sparkletts but carbon filtered water.

I purchased a RO system a while ago for my previous house and didn't have any problems. It was pretty easy to install too (less than 1 hr). The filters in the new units look to be easier to change, though I don't have any experience with those.

Way to spam the site @Ryan Stephen. An R/O unit is certainly possible for a small volume drinking water faucet. Other than that, I think you are out of luck. As others have pointed out, what you are suggesting would require the R/O unit to happen ahead of a separate water heater, The entire setup would be crazy expensive, and burn through filters and water. R/O water is aggressive if minerals aren't added back in. It has to be plumbed with plastic pipe. All of the plumbing and fixtures would need to be plastic. So here's a hot tip: I don't think you need a water filter as much as you need a computer filter. Deleting Facebook will remove a whole lot of contaminated thinking around fluoride in your water - not to mention virtually everything else. I'm being dead serious: when you think about actual damage and impact on your health and wellbeing - the misinformation you are getting is far worse than trace amounts of fluoride in your water.

@Ellen Allard we decided not to get reverse osmosis nor insta hot because so many people complain the insta hot breaks and the matching small faucet to our main faucet does not work with RO. we ended up getting the matching faucet just for filtered room temp water, though i havent picked a filter system yet. thats my next ordeal

Good point. I am not sure what we get from them, just know that it is so nice having hot and cold water ready to go! I think Sparkletts offers Mountain Spring Water as well. BUT- we would love to get rid of our machine and maybe a refridgerated system under our kitchen sink would be good unless we just use ice or drink water regular tap cold, right? I hear it is healthier drinking water that is not very cold..okay thank you for the comment.
