Making 2 Pieces of Complimentary Art Work Together
Comments (19)Love it so much, I had to find more info. on it. It is an updated terrazzo "look". The large scale instantly made me think it was something "new". Googled around... lots of misses until I typed in large scale painted terrazzo floor. I also thought it might be something new and interesting done with inkjet printing for tile. Anyway, first link was for an article about terrazzo making a comeback only large scaled....at apartment therapy.... right there on the page, there it was...lol, it says in the text, "This is maybe a bit much, but there's something undeniably cool about this bathroom tiled in a designer terrazzo called Marmoreal by dzek." Haha... it being a bit much is exactly why I love it! It is called Marmoreal... and it is an engineered marble in resin... real marble. I followed the links and see that it is made in London.... also, got the feeling that it would be way out of my price range...yup. Found a cheese board made out of it..a stinking cheese board costs 250 bucks! I think RockyBird could do something absolutely fabulous with this Marmoreal for her new bath. Comments (7)If it were hung it would look "squished in" and even if it's left leaning I'm afraid it's still too large. What about putting it in that large empty area to the left and doing some smaller things on the right wall (maybe some black and white family photos? Then you can decide on something else for over the fireplace, which could even be a mirror. If you decide to do that, I would choose something quite a bit smaller and more rectangular than the painting. That wall could really be a beautiful focal point for the room....See MoreHow to make the most of small art on a big wall?
Comments (17)Although I like your art and it’s message, I don’t think you should hang it right away for the following reasons. Where you want to hang it will just bring attention to the different door casings and the speakers. I do think you need some furniture rearranging in the room because looks like furniture is pushed to sides and walls of room and there nothing centered on fireplace, which is the focal point. You mentioned you have further plans to change a few things in the room, so I think you should wait and do it all at once, so everything comes together like it was all planned/designed that way. Being a heavy piece, you will need some good wall anchors as you won’t likely hit studs, so you need to be sure this piece will stay there. I realize this is not answering your question, but just my thoughts to encourage you to think about the room as a whole, not just one wall at a time....See MoreLooking for wall art/art-work suggestions for my living room
