Comments (1)I would try relaxing in the various positions that I intend to watch TV at and stare at the wall. Wherever it's most comfortable would be where I'd put it. Forget the rules, do what works for you. How about on the ceiling directly above the bed? Well, that might a bit dangerous, but I bet it would be comfortable. Personally, I loath having a TV in the bedroom. For me bedrooms are for sleeping, reading, and "other" activities with the missus. We had a TV in the bedroom many years ago and we both found it annoying when the other was watching TV. Now the TV's are restricted to the family room and the TV room only....See MoreHow high did you mount your flat screen TV?
Comments (11)Mounting: Once you decide on the spot where you plan to hang your LCD TV, it is time to decide on whether you will be making use of an LCD TV floor stand or a wall-type LCD mount. If you opt to hang your LCD HDTV on a wall, then you also need to determine the optimum height at which you will affix your LCD mount. There are a number of considerations that come into play when setting the screen height. The idea is to come at a level that proves comfortable on your neck. The guideline is that the maximum vertical angle of view i.e. the maximum vertical angle measured at the seated eye height from the front-row center-seat to the topmost part of the screen, should not exceed 35 degrees (more on this in our TV viewing distance article). Nevertheless, this represents the maximum vertical setting. Ideally, the center of the screen should be at eye level when seated. This is the position that will result in a minimum of eye and neck movement during TV viewing. Many may consider that aesthetically, this yields a too low placement for a wall-mounted display. The alternative is to place the LCD mount such that the bottom part of the screen is no higher than the eye level when seated, while the top of the display is no higher than the eye level when standing. Anything between these limits should always lead to a comfortable viewing experience....See MoreTV too big too high
Comments (21)No, you don't need to decorate before asking for help, just remove items that don't need to be included in the decorating. Hide them behind you for the picture or something. I mean, you're not going to have a suitcase and tools on the floor all the time, right? So get those out of the picture ... throw the comforter/quilt over the bed (doesn't have to be made up fancy, just made) ... cut up and recycle the Amazon box unless it's serving a purpose in the picture (is it standing in for a patio table or chair?). The idea is to take 5 minutes like company called from downstairs, and you want them to have room to walk and sit. Example: if the chair with the laptop needs to be replaced with a workspace, leave it and say that; if it's there because you just moved in, and the laptop isn't relevant to decorating/design/layout, move it. Give a list of things that *have* to stay, things that could be changed but serve a required function, and things that could stay or go. Example: the keyboard has to stay; the TV can be replaced, but there needs to be a TV; the blackout drapes can be changed, but blackout function must be preserved; ignore the ______ because it's just there during move in....See More- 2 years ago
