What kind of art do you have in your bedroom?
Comments (31)Thank you everyone for sharing. Natal, I love that nude (well, semi-nude). I found an impressionist style print of a European cityscape that I liked, but it wasn't framed, and I think after framing it'd be too big for our room. I also have a metal leaf sculpture I like. I had it over the mantel in the LR, but moved it for the holidays to our bedroom. I liked it, but it seemed too much with the headboard. Lil Home, I have some art like you have on your bed. Only I have it in black and seal point. Well, now at least, I feel like I can hang any art in there. I will just have to go hunt for something! I found an adorable watercolor of a bunny on Etsy. I'm leaning toward that, it's DH nickname, and we have kissing bunny figurines in our room. VERY kitschy, but it's our private space and it means something to us....See MoreNeed advise on windows in my bedroom refresh.
Comments (6)I would remove carpet now and put down an area rug until you can afford to install new flooring. (Old carpet kinda makes my skin crawl.) If it were me, I’d probably paint the floor after removing the rug. Paint it a color that blends with the area rug to make it less obvious where it sticks out from under the rug. I don't know a lot about drapes, so don’t really have a preference for rings or no rings. You won’t be opening and closing the drapes much, but if you do go without rings, make sure the rod pocket isn't so tight that you can’t move the drape if you want to. I know drapes are hung high these days, but I’ve never cared for the look of a cellular shade mounted above the window trim. I prefer inside mount, even if the trim is nothing to write home about. I love the color Tradewind and look forward to seeing your finished room!...See MoreCan I convert my 3 bedroom house to a 4 bedroom house and is it worth
Comments (8)Check on an appraisers forum to see if there would be any difference in value. Unless you are getting cash for the sale or a large down payment from the buyer the appraisal will be the determining factor if you actually get more at the sale. If you do this change, do it for yourself and not for resale. If you do this change, make sure you don't make the current floorplan dysfunctional as that will take value away. If you are using the exact same square footage and not adding any, then it is doubtful that your home would add value but you would need to get twin sales in the area to see how much, if anything, is added to the value. It may open up the buyer pool and sell more quickly though. As the others mentioned consulting with a couple of Realtors in your area would help you get a handle on the current market....See MoreMaster Bedroom needs a refresh. Please help!
Comments (216)Guess what?! Shower curtain arrived from Etsy yesterday and it looks great! Colors are even better in person than online. Copper and brown colors tie in with the tile perfectly and it brings much needed gray, white, and blue. Love! It is a little long, but I can easily re-hem. The Pottery Barn Odin rug wasn’t so lucky. The colors are kind of turquoise-y and sea glass green. So next I’m shopping for a 3’ x 5’ rug with gray-blue in it. Speaking of shopping...also need to look for art for the bedroom wall. The replacement one arrived, also with dents to the frame. Hubby brought it in from the porch and said, “Wow, this box is mangled!”...See Morejck910
