How would I turn a 3 bedroom into a 4 bedroom?
Comments (29)I know you will hate me for this, but please understand my view point. I am an old house LOVER! I also spent twenty years as a banker trying to talk people into understanding that their future home purchase had to be about love....and practicality. When you are in love with a house you think that the fact that it slapped around the last owners was likely because they were bad owners...they probably deserved it because they didn't do the maintenance you would do to keep it in check. You justify the little issues like the third eye as something minor instead of realizing that a third eye is not actually a normal thing and will require some seriously expensive custom lenses. You turn a wet basement into a couple puddles.... Ten years,..no lets make it five if you get the house....if you find that my pessimistic attitude was totally incorrect and your home turned out to be perfect beyond compare...please tell me I am wrong so I can learn a lesson. But if on the other hand my gazillion years of trying to make people understand that they should buy a home they love....but should equally involve their brains and heart in the equation turns out to make some sense in your potential chris brown like situation.....well be sure to share that valuable experience as well so that others can learn from you...and make light of your experience because "that will never happen to them". I tried to buy the egg and I farm as a young wife ohhhhh so many years ago thinking that a house with walls falling down and a tree growing in the living room just needed our tender and inexperienced care to bring it back.....the bank laughed...thank god!...See MoreChildhood bedroom refresh for late 20s female
Comments (34)Hi all, a little update to share! Room has been repainted in Dulux Lexicon grey, new curtains are in and bookshelf gone, as much clutter gone too. I spent $60 on paint, $50 on curtains and earned $160 selling the bookcase and selling old clothes on ebay to put towards a new ( read:second hand) bed frame. I can put the big tea chest that’s in the photos in our basement giving more room if I wish, so I can get a double bed. So far pretty happy with my budgeting efforts. I’ve really been astounded by the volume of contributions that helped me get to this point so THANKYOU!! Question: what bed and chest of drawers to get? would you go Grey, white , or dark stain timber?...See MorePrimary Bedroom refresh question(s)
Comments (50)I love the blue and green you’re going with. Funky’s right with it being ” fresh and clean.” I know you don’t want to buy anything, but when you mentioned plates, I thought of fans. Some of these are exquiste and perfect in a bedroom. ‘Sorry this link is so long. https://www.google.com/search?source=univ&tbm=isch&q=framed+antique+fans&hl=en-us&client=safari&fir=4WUSi763HWdRPM%252CzTs6eESIGvmoMM%252C_%253B1mWYsh7PZc001M%252C0r6CNqH7yEc4NM%252C_%253BydG7syObzM-cNM%252CxBL3W9MJjKRt5M%252C_%253BVFKIoA_BLbn_iM%252CYJ6rtN4ebNN45M%252C_%253Bu-ICU0inLJXcgM%252CWhSNByWP8MYDWM%252C_%253B9GIJ4hicsQJVHM%252CU_hZ7G_lvUPZsM%252C_%253BkWGGPA7qa21z2M%252CAqTt8sVRYgZJAM%252C_%253Bh7a1ebarBZCA9M%252C2-ynV_3Ddzf3TM%252C_%253Bfu0Ose68TevSCM%252CMntSAgP7TQQvhM%252C_%253BSQNmgWTUuM_ymM%252C4kmtZiq1LP9IZM%252C_&usg=AI4_-kTt2fyiblsbK-eTSJmhPYFf9L6lcQ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwimi6_84MD0AhXbRTABHfSGCNMQjJkEegQICBAC&biw=1121&bih=1298&dpr=2#imgrc=Hz26C4qp1L_6IM...See MoreTiny primary bedroom refresh — with Before & Afters
Comments (9)Thank you all for your help back in February! I’ve finished the room, and here are the Before & Afters. Photos are hard to get in such a small space, but hopefully it gives you the idea! Same bed, new art. Same sheets, new duvet cover & blankets. And a new cleaner wall colour (SW Shell White). Mango wood drum bedside tables to soften the edges; salt lamps on dimmers to provide enough light for reading, and an Apple Homepod Mini to use as alarm clock & speaker. Cellular blinds instead of the sheers. And springtime outside, instead of winter. Tidy new closet door, and fewer objects on the walls (nothing except the two paintings above the bed). And last but not least, those alcoves are gone! The photo doesn’t do it justice, but now the wall just disappears, and the room feels bigger. Again, thanks for all your help! I really like how it turned out. If you see anything else that it needs or any style faux pas (… yes, like the even number of paintings above the bed), I’d appreciate your suggestions....See Morejck910
