All the adversity that Lianna feels.....is the same adversity I felt at her age for being a poor uneducated female. I wonder if humans will ever become a monogamous tan color, with free college and move on....

Move on? Not without understanding. Your experience is not the same as hers of being automatically judged because of her race. Others couldn't look at your appearance and tell that you were poor and uneducated and then prejudge you because of it. In my 20s I was poor, not yet college-educated, and married to a black man, but because I was white, I never encountered anything close to what he had to endure.

@Eileen...I respect that, in real life. This is an island, a TV show. I've NEVER seen whites saying they're in an alliance because of their color...... on Survivor. Have you? I'd like to see people working TOGETHER. I adore Shan...and her Ponderosa....that was ME wishing Sia would give her $100K.

Why not respect it on the show too? Diversity is the direction the network has decided to take. I think Jeff explained it well and why it is relevant to the real world. The show is a microcosm of society where people of a common race, culture or religion do band together. There have been many seasons where people banded together because of age or gender. Did it bother you when there were all girl or all boy alliances?

Shan bonded with Ricard, a gay white male, first. She found common ground with Liana because of their gender, race, and love for their mothers.

Notice how often the black players are the first to be voted off and now Shan, Liana, and Deshawn are being targeted. But not Ricard. The white players could've voted off Ricard, the biggest threat, but Xander said he trusted him more than Liana. This is the same Ricard who whispered to him "Play your idol."

I think they just gave him the million bucks.

Yes it does bother me when women gang up against men. Good of you to point THAT out. I work with mostly men...in ALL jobs I've had. If they'd left me out where would "I" be? And I acknowledge that. I needed "men" to show me the ropes. We worked together.

lianna said, "I hate your face." about Xander. The tribe heard her. That's just nasty. She/Lianna was upset when she couldn't steal Xanders idol. He tricked her. No reason to trust her.

Got a quick question about the show (have not been watching). If memory serves it was stated in the first thread that this batch of players would not be given the typical rations of rice and beans. Did this hold true or did Jeff give in and keep them from starving to death?

At first they foraged for food. One dude found HUGE breadfruit..and another contestant says she never wants to eat seafood ever again she's so sick of it. They're eating crabs they catch. smile Then they won rice and food rewards. So............they have rice at camp to eat now.
