How would YOU arrange furniture in this bedroom?

So I just painted and got new coretec floors in my bedroom. Now I can start the fun part.. NEW FURNITURE! I currently have a full size bed in the corner but I’m looking to upgrade to a queen or even king, and I don’t think it would look good in the corner. The problem is.. the layout of the room is SO hard to work with! As you can see there are windows on each wall (blue rectangles.) The one wall without windows has the entry door, closet and a television on the wall between them. There is also a VERY long (72 inch) radiator right under the windows on the 20 foot side of the room. How would you guys place a king/queen size bed, night stands, dresser, possibly a seating area, etc in this room? I’d be willing to move the tv if needed, however I’m not even sure where else it could be moved that i would be able to see it while being in bed. It’s a beautiful, spacious room.. I’m just having such a hard time working around it. The windows are all centered btw, I just found this website and quickly made a layout to give you all somewhat of an idea.. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Position the bed IN FRONT OF the 20' wall. Headboard or not, keep the bed pulled out from the window to allow draperies to fall to the floor. The fabric will act as a nice frame for the bed and windows, and the extra space behind the bed allows drapes to be drawn at night.

I chose the 20' wall because I like to see the entire bed facing me as I walk into the room.

I thought of this idea as well.. I like it, I’m just worried about the radiator thats under that window.. do you think it will be fine since the bed will be pushed out? Also is it okay if drapes touch the radiator? It’s very old honestly and doesnt seem to ever get very hot.

Beds need to be positioned so that your feet are pointing toward the entry way into the room (if you were laying down in it). So it looks like it's on the wall it should be. I would just center it on that wall, and then I would do the old Rebecca Robeson trick and get a mirror the same size as the window and hang it on the other side to "balance" the wall. I would hang window treatments over each "window" for symmetry. And then you need two nightstands for each side of the bed. Then don't put pieces of furniture at an angle in a corner. Move that dresser flat onto a wall and get rid of that little table by the window.

First pic is looking into the room from the door. Turn to the right and the first wall is TV and dresser and a smaller window. Turn to the left is the bed and bigger window. Turn left again and you see closet and then the tall dresser. I measured and the bed would fit where the tv and long dresser are, with 10 inches of clearance between the bed and open door (if the bed is pushed all the way against the window). The long dresser would then fit long ways against the remaining wall space between the foot of the bed and the big window. But I can't decide if that would look bad.

When arranging furniture in a room, we can't really ignore measurements. ;-) If you have any graph paper, could you attempt a scale drawing of your room and furniture and play around on paper to see what works? Can you share actual pictures of the room so we can a better feel of the space? Looking at these renderings, I'd suggest placing the bed against the wall where the Vittsjo shelf is but is that too tight because of the angled wall? Otherwise, have you thought of placing the bed with the headboard against the window? You'd dress the window accordingly. First, figure out the optimal spot for the bed, then add the essential elements to the room.

I'm sure you've already realized you can't get a king sized bed on one of the shorter walls. So if that's what you want, it has to go on the long wall. If the radiator doesn't work well is the room cold in the winter? It seems to me that you should look into getting that fixed. Also, maybe it can be moved and something newer and smaller put in its place?

My room isn't quite as big as yours (more like 11 by 15), but it's similar minus all the windows. I did this with the bed on one side of the centered window and desk on the other side. So if I had your room I would probably do a similar layout since I like it this way, except with the tv in between the doors like you have it. That said I don't have a king size bed and it might bother me if it was in front of the windows much. I like the look of Judianna20s idea of centering in front of the windows too and I tried that, I just didn't like the window behind me while I slept. Haha. It took me rearranging my stuff more times than I can count until I finally found a way I liked it.

Update: I’m sooo excited!! i just wasnt into the idea of putting a bed in front of the radiator.. so after HOURSSS of research I found this amazing builder on Etsy! He’s going to make me a radiator cover that looks similar to the sideboard in this picture. He said he’s going to design it so that i can put a tv on top of it. Which means I’ll be able to put my new larger bed and nightstands on the wall with no windows. Thanks again for all of your help! I had to share this with you guys because when I told my family they didn’t get as excited as I hoped.. but I know they’re not home design obsessed like we all are 😂😂
