How do I choose paint colors
Comments (3)I looked at colors on paint chips and then wrote down choices of what I liked, without considering what furniture and accessories I have. Then I went over to the new house and put the paint chips on the wall and just picked what I liked. Once the paint was up, I was surprised at how much blue and beige I picked, without really even thinking about it. While each room is a different color, it all melds together really nicely, thank goodness, and I am very pleased with my color choices. I will worry about furniture later, once we move, but I think it will all be okay. If you like blue, BM Van Courtland Blue is the prettiest color! My builder has really fallen in love with it!! And a really nice blue/gray, is BM Nimbus Gray, which reads more blue than gray, but it's lovely!...See MoreHow do I choose a flooring color that matches my existing furniture?
Comments (11)The Kid Room 1 looks like the furniture is limited in size duration once the child is past the age of 5 or so. Have you considered a King size bed for the master? If so, you might not be keeping the same furniture there long-term, either. Kid Room 2's headboard could be recovered in a teen-friendly fabric if you wanted for a color change. I think you should just pick a flooring color that is your favorite and deal with the furniture in the future. Rugs and other decor you might have around the house will mask the flooring color anyway to some degree. I'm not a fan of painting furniture. I had a large chest of drawers for decades that was painted and required repainting several times. The finish was never robust at all, and it had to be handled very carefully and still didn't look the greatest....See MoreCan you help me choose a trim color for my newly painted house?

Comments (8)Few suggestions. I'd remove the shutters. I think they are too thin and don't add much w/the brick. Black and crisp white, portico over the front door If you wanted to try a bright white trim and deep black shutters, maybe, but I'd prob lose them altogether You mentioned Urbane Bronze. here's what that would look like w/tthe brick, somewhat, and a darker trim color or use the creamy white for the trim. your current white trim is too yellow looking. have you considered painting the brick w/Romabio? IT's a natural lime product. if you did that, removed the shutters, and painted your front door this light blue, it would look like this they used the Masonry Flat for this brick. I love the copper awning over the front door too. Here's the back and the colors used. (this Masonrty flat can be tinted any color) if you like the limewas look, Romabio Classico would be the option. (try it out. it will hose off in the first 72 hours if you don't like it. try a sample on the side or back) wood front door, limewash, and darker shutters. also new black exterior lights and gutters I really like the look of this one too. paint the trim around the windows in the urbane or the iron ore, and limewas the brick much more distresssed with olive green shutters Limewash, distressed brick w/Taupe and copper color accenting. off white trim color the masonry choice. heavier coverage. black accents similar home style. they did the brick w/the gray, and added a covered porch....See MoreHU-187528210
