Sudden loss of water pressure in showerhead

Our BIG kohler showerhead lost water pressure all of the sudden. I took it out and opened it up and found no clogs or obstructions. All other showers/heads seem unaffected. What could be cause or solution?

If you turn on the shower with the head off, does it flow normally?

Um. Honestly I can't tell if the flow without the head iss normal or not.

There are many reasons for venting from jars. One is opening the pressure canner too soon. Be sure the pressure is absolutely down to zero, give it an extra minute or so and then remove the jars. Also try not to tilt the jars when removing them from the canner. Here's a thorough list of reasons for venting from Washington State Extension: Reasons for Liquid Loss From Jars 1. Leaving wrong amount of headspace when filling jars. Leave: 1 inch headspace for LOW ACID foods such as most meats and vegetables. 1 Â¼ inch headspace for chicken and rabbit. Â½ inch headspace for HIGH ACID foods such as fruits, tomatoes, and fruit juices. Â¼ to Â½ inch headspace for pickles and relishes as directed. Â¼ inch headspace for jams and jellies. Check USDA instructions for each food. 2. Food packed so tightly that liquid did not fill the spaces between pieces of food. 3. Starchy foods may absorb some of the liquid. 4. Liquid added to cover cold raw food was not hot enough when placed in canner. 5. Air bubbles not removed at time of packing. Use a plastic spatula around the inside of the jar to remove air bubbles. 6. Jars processed in boiling water bath not covered with 1-2 inches of water. 7. Pressure canner not sufficiently exhausted. 8. Allowing pressure to fluctuate or sudden lowering of temperature during processing. 9. Too sudden changes in temperature when processing period is over. (If the canner cools too quickly while the contents of the jar remain at a much higher temperature, the liquid will boil over. The contents of the jar and the canner have to cool down gradually from 240Â°F to 212Â°F. The "coming down" period should be gradual and even.) Opening the petcock before the pressure has returned to zero. (When the pressure has returned to zero, open the petcock very cautiously and if steam escapes, close and wait a few minutes. This avoids cooling the atmosphere around the jars too fast which causes liquid to boil over.) Letting the canner stand too long after pressure returned to zero. Municipal water provided by Pennsylvania American Water. Their source is well water. We have not had a recent water quality test completed. However, the Kinetico service tech did test my tap water for chlorine at the time of his service call. The result was negligible. As for iron, it was also negligible at the time we installed the system 5 years ago. I was told to change the 5 micron sediment filter every 6 months. I typically change it every 4 months, when I add softener salt. I use Kinetico's salt. I did not run without the filter in the housing because I replaced the less than 3 week old filter with a new one. What would testing the system without a filter in place prove if I put a new one in and tested and had no water pressure? I'm assuming ti would only tell me I have a defective filter, but I don't think that is a reasonable assumption. We have not had a recent water quality test completed. Yes, Kinetico softeners have a 10 year warranty for parts, but not labor. I'm still concerned about the sudden, rather than transitional, failure of water pressure. Can anyone share on that?

My first guess would be a clogged aerator on the water spout. Unscrew it and clean it out to see if that's the case. I'd also run the water for a few seconds without the aerator installed in case there's some more debris in the line that needs flushing out.

Oh, I didn't realize you wanted to run both the rain shower and regular showerhead at the same time. Check your state and local codes. In California, where I live, building inspectors usually won't pass multiple simultaneous outlets anymore due to the new water regulations. The age of the "human car wash" spa shower is over in CA, lol. Even if each outlet was limited to the national 2.5 gpm, they often added up to 10 gpm or more (old showerheads used to flow about 5 gpm). The Hansgrohe three-way "green" diverter I used met CA code because only one water source at a time could be selected. A non-green code version is available too, but I didn't may any attention to the details because I can't use it here. The advice to use 3/4 inch pipes instead of 1/2 is good, though I am not well versed on the pressure loop concept. We've always had good water pressure in our house (city water supply and a not-very-old pressure regulator). Master bathroom and hall bathroom's pipes are within a shared wall. We removed all the 1/2 inch copper supply lines and replaced with 3/4 inch PEX while the shared wall was exposed during the first bathroom remodel (1/2 inch PEX from supply lines to each outlet). Water pressure is as good as it's ever been, even with reduced flow showerheads (Hansgrohe Raindance @ 2 gpm). One way around the issue of two shower sources going at the same time in the same shower area may be to have a controller/valve for each shower spray source, because then it's no different than two people showering at the same time but in different bathrooms. But check with your building department just to be sure. And the cost of two valves, two trim kits, and additional labor is higher, so you'll have to consider if having both showers spraying at the same time is worth the extra expense.

...in which case, there is some obstruction in the shower head. You may not be able to see it, but it's there. Perhaps there was a release of crud in the piping that clogged the nozzles in the shower head. You may be able to fix things by inserting a needle into each nozzle and then pouring water into the shower head to flush out the debris.

or try pouring (or spraying) white vinegar into the intake (you'll have to put it in a shallow container to keep the level of vinegar up into the fixture), let it sit for a while and see if it can dissolve whatever is there.
I recently saw a youtube video that showed how to clean a clog in the spray holes by using a interdental brush, which I thought was brilliant!

So, I recognized something: when the water is running cold...force is higher than when I keep turning to mix into the Hot water. Is that something? If so, what could be cause

Also, I tested same thing in other shower...no issue when mixing in the hot water. Could it be the kohler valve?

Please clarify...it's unclear if you're getting no flow or low flow out of the problematic showerhead. What does the showerhead do when the valve is set to all cold vs. all hot?

When valve is set to hot...pressure lowers. Strangely, I have a handheld next to it(see picture). That is not effected when I change to cold to hot nor low pressure. They both are controlled by same valve

Our shower head would run normal when shower started, but a few seconds later water pressure was low, we found on the shower head all the little nozzles just had to be basically rubbed a bit with a finger the pressure increased, I now watch if the water is flowing out of nozzle sideways just to reach up and fixes th3 problem

My husbands shower had the same problem, my shower head is fine. I cleaned his showerhead with: Clorox Bathroom Bleachfree Cleaner, and now it runs fine! Use this once a month on your showerheads and it keeps them clean snd functioning well.
