You can't get to farm from here, kiddo. You hate the bath. You hate the cabinetry, the tile. the hardware. You hate the faucet. The kleenex box on the shelf is a "nice" touch lol. Paint the walls a soft white, or seafoam . Paint out the oak trim. Get a decent shower curtain. Change the hardware, and put a big PIGGY BANK where that tissue box is. And start saving for the gut you really want. Don't stop, until you get to 45 -50k at least. WAH I feel your pain: )

You have great bones! Are you open to wallpaper? Something in a black/white/cream would tie the cool with the warm tones in the room. Definitely change out the light fixture. Add rugs and towels in a color that compliments the room (if you black/white/cream, a soft blue might be nice). You said, "I really like black metals, white/gray, mixed with natural wood... modern farmhouse style I suppose." This doesn't give us much to go on. If you show us images of your "style" we can suggest specific wallpapers/wall color/textiles/fixtures.

@michiganmama: I just used BM Beacon Gray paint but that might be a little bit too blue for you. Take a look at BM Silver Mist, BM First Snowfall, and maybe BM Marilyn’s Dress. If you search these colors on the Benjamin Moore site you can click the options for shades and similar colors. Maybe thia will help narrow things down before you go to the paint store for chips or samples. I am seeing the sink as more teal than gray/blue, so my focus is on the floor where I see gray. If you decide to change the sink, go for an undermount white. Regarding the vents, I took them down, lightly sanded, got them really clean, and spray painted (metal paint from Lowe’s).
