Be careful they are in financial trouble and some believe on the verge of going bankrupt.

I am an interior designer and have recently been very disappointed with the quality of Norwalk upholstery and the unwillingness of the company to rectify issues. My client purchased a sectional and within 3 weeks of delivery a hole on each corner of the arm has appeared where the fabric has rubbed against nothing but wood. There is no padding in between the fabric and the wood and the fabric was not backed to prevent this. The other issue is puling of the fabric on the side of the sectional near the back corner creating a ripple effect. The company has refused to fix these issues. I have a very unhappy client and would not recommend them.

We used the Besta as a built in entertainment center in our basement about 5 years ago or so. I love it - I found it very customizable and easy to work with. The pieces are very solid. Our huge TV is sitting on it (not wall mounted) and we have the drawers loaded up with DVDs etc. Nothing is bending or warping. I will say that we also used some low Besta shelves without doors as a sofa table behind the sofa -- the kids kept their lego creations on them. For those shelves, we had trouble with some of the veneer peeling off the edge banding -- I think the kids banged into the front edges of the shelves and nicked it and then it started to peel. We recently put doors on them (another nice thing about the Besta -- you can still buy doors for shelves we purchased 5 years ago and they fit and match perfectly) and that hides the problem (and makes the shelves look nicer too!). But that is the only problem we had with them -- the entire entertainment center is holding up great. I will try to attach some photos -- in the second photo, you can see the low bookshelf pieces that had the veneer problem in the foreground -- basically some of the veneer peeled off the front facing edge of the frames (not the shelves themselves.) And like I said, it could have just been a fluke since nothing has peeled off any of the entertainment center pieces. Overall, I would definitely recommend the system -- it's a great value for the money.
