Added new white cabinets to existing…

I am renovating my home after redoing my kitchen less than 4 years ago. In an effort to save money, I saved my fairly new cabinets and just purchased the few extra I needed to fill in the new cabinet configuration. I ordered from the same company and the same color style. However, it didn’t occur to me that dye lots may be different/my existing cabinets may have even yellowed over time. Is this super noticeable? It’s too late to buy new ones to replace the old as our countertop has been templated and will be installed this week and money is tight. I am not against painting them but that will be in quite some time from now. Just hoping they don’t look crazy noticeable/like garbage.

Center cabinet appears to be a different color unfortunately.

Yeah, not perfect, but I suspect after everything is finished and you're using the kitchen every day you won't notice it much. Ask the cabinet folks if the new cabinet will yellow over time. The alternative is to call a halt to everything, make a big cash withdrawal from the bank, and redo everything. I could live with it but only you know if you'll forget about it or it will drive you crazy forevermore. Good luck with your project, CW.

P.S. Can you hang a dishtowel on that cabinet?

We just (well- back in August) replaced our counter tops and shopped for UCL for months - trying to decided how and what to install. we are now in the process of installing the UCL and we're using LED. They are strung together and are dimmable. We have an OTR microwave with a cabinet above it where there is a outlet (recepticle?) anyhow, we have inline switches that turn them off and/or dim them. All plugged into the one outlet. Very nice. They were somewhat costly, but cheap to operate. Roughly 14 feet of lighting will be like 35-40 watts. AND being LED they should last 10+ years. I used wood veneer tape on my frameless cabinets. You just iron it on and stain like therest of the cabinet. You can see it on the left side of the drawer. If you have frames on the cabinets, many places online will do frames for cheap Or they make this same veneer in sheets that you just cut to fit.

around the cabinet I would remove it it doesnt be long. around the mirror stain to match the cabinet. if the trim around the cabinet it to cover a gap I would fill it or caulk it and paint it to match the wall.

Once the counter is in, I dont think it will be as noticeable.

Do you have the option to just replace door and drawer fronts to match the new? Personally the difference is minor from the photo. Can you show a complete picture of the kitchen. It might help us determine how noticeable it will be.

Hi Toni, unfortunately the company said they do not sell replacement fronts. I will get a picture after the countertop is installed!

Where is this in relation to the rest of the kitchen/house? If it faces out into an area where you're sitting and can see it from straight on, it might be more noticeable than if it faces "in" where you don't have a good long angle to see it. I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes sense to you?

Yes, totally makes sense. It is the peninsula so it faces inward to the kitchen and you do see it straight ahead when walking into the kitchen. This seems to be worst one, the others sprinkled in aren’t as noticeable (for example; the one on the far right with the small drawer is a new cabinet that is closer in color to the center one)
