It's not too loud most of the time, but is noticeable when the room is otherwise quiet. I am staring to get used to the sounds made by the cooktop. They are louder when the pan is cold or empty, and the sizzling or bubbling does effectively cover up the tick-buzz rhythm. It also varies depending on what utensil is being, used with cast iron being the quietest. My Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 10" skillet is the noisiest , but a similarly sized Scanpan non-stick makes only moderate noise as does the 3 qt. Calphalon saute' pan. I guess it has to do with resonant frequencies and the physics of the situation. Since I really like the cooking performance, layout, efficiency and easy cleaning of the stove I will learn to live with the sounds it generates. My only other complaint with the unit is the childproof lock. I have no need for a nanny looking over my shoulder making sure I don't do anything dangerous. The unit doesn't even turn on unless there's a appropriately sized magnetic object on top and shuts off if it gets too hot. There are no locks on other types of cooktops. It is annoying to have to wait for the controls to unlock, but I have found that if I put a wet sponge on the "key", it will enable the controls while I do other things. Is there a way to permanently disable the lock feature for us grown-ups?

Its disheartenig to see people on discussion boards receiving backordered Woolf ranges in 4 months and occasinlly as much as a year, while my expected delivery date has been extended twice. next possible delivery is January or Feb 2023, 1 1/2 years of waiting. How can this be?

I have the 36” and love the burner placement. I consider it one of its stengths. I can put a large pan on the big burner and turn the handle to the right and there is no interference wtih the other pans. It also allows easy access to that pan as you don’t have to reach over any other pans. I have cooked with all 5 at once and no issue as long as they all aren't 10+ inch pans.

@wdccruise thanks for the info. I purchased the Wolf contemporary legacy version, so good there. Appreciate the info on the CR test of quartz...the 400 degrees certainly seems ample to prevent issues with quartz. Personally, I would never put a hot pot on any counter surface so this seems to be workable even with a flush install…and realize I need to wary of a pot reaching past the cooktop onto the counter. I am still deciding on the type of material for the counter but the info is quite helpful. @kaseki I agree, the CR heat test results are good to hear about the quartz and also agree that plastics would be the most likely risk of the countertop materials. I think with a little bit of care any damage can be prevented with quartz.
