UPDATE: Jessie from NXR / ADCO called me this morning. He was very helpful. He suggested that I buy some ceramic wire nuts in case the new ignitor part from Dvorsons needs adapting. Also, I looked on YOUTUBE and there was some great videos on how to test the Ignitor and Gas Safety Valve with an ohms meter. I'll do that before I cut any wires on the old ignitor... just to make sure it's the ignitor that's broken. Even though the oven is not working .... I STILL LOVE THIS NXR RANGE. Easy access to the parts (atleast in this case). If a lady like me can fix her own range then this is one nice range. If I can indeed accomplish this on my own then it will cost me around about $66 total.... saving me hundreds. If I have to get a technician out here it will cost $95 for him to just diagnose it. I'll let everyone know how things go. Maybe I'll take some pictures and post them for those of you with an NXR .

Same BTU, same length, and it's a perfect drop in replacement at about half the price as the NXR part (if you can get it). The slot on the mounting tab is wider than the NXR, but all that needs is a small washer. Thor may even have a better design - the ignitor mounts further away from the burner. I suspect that moves the fuel ignition out of the burner tube and may prevent the bubble problem, but time will tell.

The bottom panel ("kickplate") is easily removed for servicing but you do not want to run the oven without it. The kickplate is functional. It covers the oven baking element which, being a gas stove, sits in a compartment beneath the oven. For normal use of the oven, you do not want that exposed to the room. As for bring a BS stove in from the Costco.ca, I believe that there was some recent discussion about your questions. The question may have been asked about one of the 30-inch BS models, so try searching here on the model numbers of the BS stoves that Costco offers. My recollection is that the bottom panel (kickplate) on the BS serves the same function as on the NXR so you should have it in place when operating the stove. My recollection is that the Coscto.ca Bluestars come with the same propane conversion kits that Prizer-Painter supplies on this side of the border. Best to call BS and ask them directly, though.

Bump, I would like to know the noise level of the 36" undercabinet NXR Rangehood w 1000cfm as well.
