I would to add that the window next to my bed is overlooking my neighbor’s laundry room and powder room. 🤔😳 so maybe curtain sheer in morning, black out curtain at night?

Hello Beatrice, I put together a 3D layout for your consideration. My husband and I have our bed oriented the same way that it is shown in this design. We have the bed far enough away from the windows and curtains so that we can easily open them and draw them back onto a curtain hook. We also like it because it gives us fresh air in the evening and makes ingress and egress into the bed and in and out of the room easier for both of us. Yes this is an out of the box design but I thought that I would present it for your consideration. In the design you will find: Two 19" wide bedside tables One king sized bed One 3 to 4' bench with storage placed at the end of your bed for dressing and anything else you may want to store in it. Two dressers with matching mirrors. Only because I do not know where the closet and bedroom doors are located in the room One area rug that looks a bit like yours Two table lamps on the bedside tables One floor lamp to the left of the dresser Beatrice I sincerely hope that all is well with you and that this helps. I'm wondering if there's another idea I'm not considering. Are you open to painting the room (including the ceiling) a dramatic, dark color? In my first house, my husband and I painted our vaulted master bedroom a deep cool green (kept the trim white), and we *loved* it. We were pleasantly surprised at how much it darkened the room at night, something we hadn't even considered, but were thrilled with. I also really like curtains, and if it were me, I'd mount a single rod over the tallest window, extending it 8"-12" past each flanking window. Color would depend on the look you were after. Thoughts? :-)

Because the stairwell windows overlap the railing, there isn't a clear cut off point for a wall. A workaround is to extend the bedroom floor in front of them to create a nook for your dresser and where you'll also be able to add drapes for light control. That section will be high enough over the bottom winders to allow for headroom. Instead of a solid wall where the railings are now, you could consider a double stacking sliding door system behind rails. You won't have worry about door swing, the bedroom door would stack over another door when open, then slide to close. All four doors (or panels) can slide open and stack on one end when you want it mostly open to move furniture and all four can slide across to make a solid wall. I'm not a fan of dark stairwells and would be inclined to use glass but you know what would best fit your needs. There are many options for doors and panels.
