Can this mirror go here? Question #1 - Office/Guest Room Re-do
Comments (20)Using the mirror over the mantel is not where I'm headed - that picture is about 15 years old! A friend on another board came up with a suggestion at the same time I was thinking of it myself. See the white mirror above? Notice how the bottom piece of trim extends out on 3 sides - ALMOST LIKE A SHELF !! That's what my piece needs - I think - and it should be pretty easy to add. Wha'd'ya think? At this point I'm leaning towards cleaning it up and not painting it - there is one other small piece that I'd like to use in the room with the similar wood tones so I think they'll relate well. syllabus that's a really interesting idea - I'm going to have to flip a photo to get a visual. The bookcase you're seeing in the reflection is black - must be the sun glare looking blue. But that's one of the pieces up for repainting so it may not stay black....See MoreSm 2nd BR in rental-need ideas for storage, office/guest room-HELP!
Comments (15)That's a small amount of space. Get a bed with built-in storage drawers on the bottom and a slim armoire with drawers. Check Craigslist and make sure your measurements of anything you add will fit. Everything else should go on the walls--lamp, small bedside shelf, book shelves (though shelves you have could be used as a divider/bedside table.) You really have to give people photos of all four walls....See MoreGuest Room to: Unisex Baby’s Room, Office Desk Area & Twin Bed.
Comments (4)Hello there, Sharon! Yes, I understand what you mean. The room’s primary purpose needs to be a Baby’s Room. The twin bed will be for nights that hubby and I may have to lay in the room with baby, etc. Small office space: little desk and chair for occasional computer business use. I’m looking to make it all flow where everything will coordinate and flow with baby’s theme and or decor. Thank you!...See MoreHelp Accessorizing with Pillows for Guest Bedroom
Comments (2)I would rehang the artwork vertically, not horizontally. Without a headboard, guests find themselves leaning pillows on the wall if they want to sit and read before bedtime. Headboards on a budget can be found at consignment shops or Habitat’s ReStore. You could paint it or make a fabric slipcover to bring color and pattern to the room. Please avoid too many decor pillows because your guests will be uncomfortable piling them on the floor when they turn down the bedding at night. When I am a guest I prefer a hard pillow and a soft pillow so I can make a choice when I go to sleep. The money you save by not buying decor pillows can be put toward night stands and lamps....See MoreMary Hunt
