what kind of yucca is this?

I picked this up but couldn’t find anymore info on it online. Is there a common name and Solaris is just the variety ?
I’m wondering because it says full sun but want to know if it’s Arizona full sun. Full sun often times does not mean Arizona’s full sun…

I can barely make out the label. Does it give a hardiness rating? Does it say 32ºF? If so then it's quite tender and could be a variegated type of Yucca elephantipes/gigantea.

Yes it says 32 degrees.

I have a care book and one of its mentions suggests yucca is one plant whose pot should be allowed to break before it is repotted. Seems it is saying the plants roots should be allowed to do its worst before needing a fix. Yucca, along with other plants, dracaena among them, is affected to small extent by fluoride. Fluoride is a constituent of perlite. Whether one should avoid its use is up in the air--it does aid in good drainage. One might decide instead to use a coarse sand in lieu of. Fluoride does not, unlike chlorine, dissipate to much extent by leaving it overnight. Still, gaining room temperature by such time interval does help the plant. (had to throw that in, I'm a believer now in the difference of the chemicals) Where one might see effects from such fluoride, an easy method to rid the soil of its long term effects is to leach the soil as well as one can considering the size of the plant and container its in. Still though, leaching has its good results for taking the bother. One method I use on my pothos, I think works well, is to take a bowl with you to the plant when you water, and water well --very well so that the plant drains continuously for a time while you sop it up with a sponge. If hubby has a chamois for the car, that can be used and works extremely well. Just be sure to wash it well afterwards.

It is quite sheltered by the fence but we've had really windy weather, would you cut it down into 2 trunks & repot them, I think I should have cut it's roots back reading other posts on here but I didn't know so I probably have compounded the problem, ill know what do to with my new yucca this time!! It's nearly 12 years old so it's done well to survive in the hands if a novice!! Lucky you having such lovely weather, the weather here has battered my pansies & nearly finished off my japanese acers ;-( Ill have to be careful what I choose to grow next time & not pick what I like the look of, we get coastal winds here which doesn't help!! Thanks for all your advice, it was worth a try

What kind of barrel cactus? What kind of Agave -- A. americana? What kind of Yucca? Most Agaves will benefit from regular water, at least every two weeks through most of the year (less in winter) and as often as twice per week through summer. They can survive with less, but will look and grow best while well-watered. Many non-native cacti also do best with regular water through much of the year, but do not want water while dormant in winter. Native cacti need very little if any supplemental watering. It is important to let succulents dry thoroughly between waterings.

When I buy a plant from a local big box store or reputable nursery, the plants are either sold in an outdoor section of plants hardy to my zone (anything from zones 5, 6 or 7) or in a section for houseplants (tropicals that need protection from hard frost). Assuming that is also true in Arizona. Did you buy it where the indoor plants are sold or the outdoor plants? Also, you did not provide your cold hardiness zone, Arizona is a big state with a lot of variety.

Just curious if the type of yucca so i can research the light preference myself

Well, if it is Yucca elephantipes those are native to Central America, so wetter than Arizona, but they are grown in Southern California and are still very drought tolerant. Still, as you know, the Arizona sun is STRONG and this guy may not need or appreciate the hottest sun outside, but I will defer to growers with experience in Arizona. Y. elephantipes is certainly the most commonly sold Yucca all over the country and probably the world, but it could be something else. Regardless, if you you plant it outside, I would pay attention to soil moisture until it gets established. BTW, I searched Yucca 'solaris' and found NOTHING online.
