Anyone use cabinets by Wolf?
Comments (92)I posted above 2 months ago and I want to update now that we've laid eyes on Wolf Classic white painted cabinets. The headline for me is "thank goodness we chose a great contractor". We signed up with a big operation that must do a lot of work with Wolf. They inspected every cabinet at their shop prior to bringing them to the job site (our home) and I've learned there were a few that were damaged and sent back for replacement. Some of the replacement cabinets even showed up damaged and had to be replaced. All in, the quality of the cabinet is not great but we are lucky enough to have a good contractor that's making all the door / drawer adjustments and will touch up all the paint imperfections, of which there are many. We ordered white painted and so they're bound to have flaws vs a stained cabinet which would probably be less delicate. However, as other reviewers noted, you would expect better quality for the money. I can not in good conscience refer you to Wolf Classic but I could refer you to our contractor if you're in the Atlanta area. We purchased cabinets from Cabinets.com for a basement remodel 2 yrs ago and based on our observations the Cabinets.com product is better. Key differences to note, white painted wolf classic doors are MDF and supposedly will hold the painted finish better over time because contraction and expansion is reduced. Cabinets.com are maple doors, cabinet interior is nicer, they use blum soft close hardware and they didn't show up damaged. Of course there are many cabinet brands to consider but at a similar price point Cabinets.com appears to be a better product. Wish we would've considered them again or another brand. Having said all that, our kitchen project is going to look great when it's done but I doubt they'll look great in 10 years. Definitely no comparison to the quality of the 80's cabinets we just had ripped out. Reach out if you have any follow up questions....See MoreMerillat classic cabinet
Comments (59)@Mavis Jones Our builder contracted with the local Reico office. I'll start out with something I'm sure you will already know, and most likely agree with, that every Reico office is different (staff, experience, expertise). I didn't find our Reico designer to be helpful in choosing options, but I came to the appointment ready to roll (our builder provided all the options prior to the appointment). I came in thinking I would go with Ralston or Tolani until she pulled out a new option the builder added to the list, Glenrock. I went with that and love them (in Kona stain). My husband pulled out all the countertop options and narrowed them down and I made the final decision. The designer was helpful only in ticking off all her boxes for the builder. But that's just me as a customer, other customers she'd provide more guidance. I like the cabinets a lot. I've had better cabinets in a previous home but I like these. I chose a recessed design and the inset sounds like MDF (in my previous house they were all wood, including the inset), but I don't go around tapping on the inset so it doesn't matter to me. It seems like the finish on these is more prone to scratches so someday I'll get around to filling them in with the stain pens they provided. They're easy to clean with water and vinegar. The stain color is consistent throughout the product. These pics were before we moved in so there's some building/construction dust still on them....See MoreWolf transition cabinets, yes or no?
Comments (4)If not doing custom. A lot of contractors I work with use J&K cabinets in their remodels. The clients are happy, too. They are good cabinets and good quality. They are solid maple doors plywood construction boxes & come with soft close. Maybe ask your contractor if there's a dealer near you. They are better quality than Wolfe for similar price....See MoreWolf or Waypoint cabinets?
Comments (5)Wolf Classic. I know this place deals with Bishop and Aristocraft as well, but he thinks it'll run it up $3k more if we go that way, and we don't have a lot of room in the budget to upgrade because we want to upgrade a LOT of other things with this new construction home. Wolf Classic came in at about $9-10k and the Waypoint about 8.5k. These are two designers though, and they each priced out similar but slightly different options so it is hard to compare. I don't know which line they priced me for Waypoint, it isn't clear on the estimate. I should add that the Waypoint person has typos all over their estimate and I know they did it in a rush. So I feel like theirs might be inaccurate on the cost....See MoreAmber
