Mustang plum rootstock

Hi there,
I'm trying to decide what's the best plum rootstock for my property. I'm in zone 5 Ontario, and my property has clay soil and a high water table. The nursery has a few options for plums: Myrobalan, St. julian A, Mustang and Prunus Americana. I would like to try Mustang but I can't find any information on how it does in heavy and/or wet soil. Has anyone tried planting Mustang rootstock in that type of environment? What is your experience? Thanks

Regraft with new varieties as the rootstock is only for roots. You could do this on the 3-4 branches you trim way back to 1' off the trunk or so, keeping all new growth from the old trunk in check. Do some you tube video searches on top grafting to get a good idea. Noogy

Krymsk 1 compatibility is not well known, supposedly it works with some asians and not others. I have a bunch of them and have frankly had trouble getting things to "stick". Looking at my orchard map, I managed to get one peach one apricot and one asian plum to take on my ten rootstocks. Scott

Campv I would have guesses Satsuma too, but I am pretty sure it is off a root sucker and from what I have read, it is too early for a satsuma season to be done.

I found this page useful; maybe you will too. I think I (or my wife) drowned at least one of my stone fruits. This year I am trying an apricot in a largish container, partly for reasons of space and partly to have more control over the wet-feet problem.
