Best Polychromes of 2021
Post your prettiest polychromes here. Polychrome daylilies are those with an intermingling of two or more colors (not counting eyes or edges). The next category on Monday will be Eyes Without Edges.
Kentucky Lucky is a peach yellow polychrome. It's a great late bloomer that sometimes reblooms.
Techny Peace is another late-blooming polychrome that is yellow peach and pink mingled. I moved it two falls ago, and it really did well in its new place this year, finally multiplying well and reblooming on every fan.
Temporary and Eternal has not multiplied well for me.
Tall Blonde had not done well in a pot, mainly because the cats smash the emerging fans down every spring. The blooms were prettier this year than in the past. It's yellow with hints of orange, peach and pink.
Dance Again is a melon yellow polychrome.

I think Spectral Elegance is a polychrome. It’s a lovely early bloomer. it was the only daylily to rebloom for me last season.
Sweet Autumn Mist was a bonus. It did well for it’s second full season here.
This is my bee pollen daylily. Most blooms look like this. I’m not sure how to categorize it because an occasional bloom looks like this.
Just added Forest God, it was new this spring and had a few blooms

Comments (13)David - The Ultimate Illusion has a very unique pattern. Thanks for posting it. Nan - Your Curious Cutie seedlings are beautiful! I have a lot more patterned daylilies. I'll show a few more, and some of my patterned seedlings. Rainbow Maker is a strong grower and a good rebloomer. Facemaker didn't do much this year, but I it didn't get in the ground until late October. I hope it will have more buds next year when it's more settled. Bragging Rights has a very large bloom, but the scapes were short and it didn't have many buds. I hope it will do better when I get it out of a pot and in to the ground. This is my favorite seedling from the cross of Aztec Headdress x Banded Broadbill. It has a 7-inch bloom and rebloomed this time. Another patterned seedling I like is Dragonfly Dawn x Bowtie Affair. This was its first year to bloom, and it had bud counts in the mid teens and rebloomed. This one is (Redefined Design x Blue Eyed Bandit) x (Palace Garden Beauty x Karelia) - First-time bloomer that also rebloomed. Texas Blue Eyes x Violet Tranquility - This one is a four-year-old with bud counts in the 20s, but it's a slow multiplier. Comments (20)I am coming late to this party. I am having trouble with my laptop. It keeps shutting down. It only happens when I'm on the internet. Bob intended to take it into the shop after lunch today, but he forgot. Hopefully I can post a few before it shuts down again. Eyed and edged daylilies are a favorite here. Some of these have partial edges. I wasn't sure where to put them so I put them here. This is Bucklebury Ferry, one of our intros. It just has a partial edge. I was hoping for a bigger edge like its parent Sam Abell, but it wasn't to be. Cherry Pie a la Mode also has a partial edge. The white and purple flower in the background is the pollen parent of Cherry Pie. It is Empire of Dawn and Dusk. Eggplant Luminosity definately has an edge. Happy Place is one we haven't had too long. I hope to use it in breeding red and yellow daylilies. Merry Moppet has one serious flaw. It often doesn't open well. Comments (9)Brad - Big Smile definitely goes in this category. I think Mediterranean Sailor has a watermark and would not go here. Celeste - Your picture of Frosted Vintage Ruffles is so pretty. I used to have that one. Grubs completely devoured it , along with many others ENO's I used to grow. I think Tina's Siren Song is watermarked daylily rather than an ENO. It's very pretty though. Here are a few more of my watermarked ones that I have not yet posted. I Lava You - I failed to post this one in the red thread even though it was one of my best performers last year. It had super branching, bud counts around 20 and strong rebloom. Red Heartthrob bloomed very early on short scapes. The blooms were gorgeous. This one is a good multiplier. Roaring Rapids Integrated Logistics I forgot to post Wild Red Heart in the bitones and bicolors, so I'll post it here. It had a bud count in the high teens and strong rebloom this season. Rosy Rhino had a long bloom season. Browns Ferry Queen of Hearts had its best season ever, with lots of instant rebloom this time. Four No Trump was a first time bloomer with a low bud count. Celeste - I think you win the prize for most polychromes. Such a lot of nice eye candy. My favorite of yours is Live Jazz, closely followed by Welcome Mat.
My seedling which I call the Inimitable Seedling shows ivory, pink and peach tones, especially when temps are cool. Later in the season it mostly looks near white, except for a blush on the sepals. This one is in the pipeline to be registered when I get enough fans. It has a 7-inch bloom on 28 inch scapes with an average of 17 buds.
