2021 Wolf Range Updates -- Any idea of timing?
Comments (394)Sharing my experience to keep the hope alive for those checking this thread as I did— I ordered a 36" dual fuel w/griddle on Jan 28, 2022, and was given an estimated ETA of November 2022. November passed and I was given a date of December 7th, which of course was not met. I could not get a new date from my unreliable sales rep. With one full year passing after I placed my order, I continued to pester him every week showing my frustration. However, I couldn't get a new date from him much less any answers. I decided to contact Wolf in February and talked to a product specialist who actually had some answers for me (i.e., the delay with the dual fuel models was due to a specific part not passing QA from a supplier and causing a long backup). She then put me in touch with the distributor. The distributor was able to give me my ETA, which was May, but then was able to push it up to March 7th. They could've made up the May date entirely to set my expectations really low, but nonetheless, I was happy to get a solid date in March. Fast forward, it was installed today and as others have said on this thread, it was worth the wait....See MoreSelling house, old R22-type AC unit solution?
Comments (33)Do You Have R-22 in Your Old AC System? Here’s What to Do: https://www.minisplitwarehouse.com/ Faced with the rising costs of R22 air conditioner repairs, the decline of available refrigerant supply, and the increase in price of refrigerant, deciding what to do with your system can be a complicated choice. We’re here to help you make the best, most educated choice for your home. You have choices: Recharge Retrofit Replace 1. RECHARGE WITH R-22 OUT WITH R-22, IN WITH R-410A The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is responsible for implementing the R-22 refrigerant phase out for the United States. By January 1, 2010, there was a ban on the production and import of R-22. As a result, manufacturers of heat pump and air conditioning equipment redesigned their systems to accommodate R-41 0A, a chlorine-free refrigerant compared to R-22. The refrigerant would soon replace R-22 in the new HVAC equipment. EPA regulations require a ban on the production and import of R-22 refrigerant by January 1, 2020. After 2020, any air conditioning or heat pump system using R-22 that requires servicing will have to depend on potentially expensive R-22 stockpiles or reclaimed refrigerant. The new ban on R-22 won’t affect homeowners that want to continue to utilize their functioning R-22 air conditioning systems. However, in the event that that equipment needs to be charged with refrigerant, there will be difficulties. 2. RETROFIT R-421A – REFRIGERANT FOR TOMORROW • Unique non-ozone depleting, long-term replacement for R22 refrigerant • Environmentally GREEN refrigerant • Replace R22 without unit modification • Does not contain hydrocarbons, such as Butane, lsopentane or lsobutane • Replaces R22 with no change of oil • Usable in compressors designed for R22 • Usable with Mineral, AB or POE oils Only 2-component blend to replace R22 • Non-flammable; Rated A 1 by ASH RAE • Comparable to R22 performance temperature range • Usable in a wide variety of applications 3. REPLACE So, how do you go about making that decision to repair or replace your older R22 air conditioner? How can you tell when a piece of equipment has outlived its useful life? Can you get your older unit to last another couple of years by fixing it? Or will you have to keep throwing money into it, especially as the price of R22 continues to skyrocket? Newer units are more energy efficient and can lower your electric bill, but can you manage the upfront cost? The unfortunate truth is, there is no cut and dried answer. But you can make the best decision to repair, retrofit or replace your R22 air conditioner when you know what factors to consider about your equipment and its history, and whom to trust for advice. THE RISK FACTOR Hanging on to an R22 air conditioner until the bitter end January 1, 2020 is when R22 will no longer be available at any price) does pose some risks, especially for a business that relies on air conditioning. When you finally need to replace, how long will you have to wait for a new system because you’re in line with everyone else who is force to replace their R22 air conditioner?...See MoreWhat's the read on seed houses for 2022 ordering?
Comments (10)Hi MX, I have not grown any Preciosa (they are relatively new), and can't comment on its yellow as compared to the Magellan Yellow. I commend you for your appreciation of color nuances in zinnias. " I don't care for lemon yellows, but I do like a golden yellow. " I can't say that I dislike any zinnia color. My favorite zinnia "color" is White, because it is a structural color like snow. Snow melts to clear water. There is no white pigment in zinnias, like artist's Titanium White or Lead White, but instead zinnia White is structural, like snow, which depends on multiple refractions in its tiny individual water crystals to give the appearance of white. There are no "crystals" in Zinnia petals, but there are cells that visually approximate crystals. By crossing regular zinnia colors with White, you can get a combination of dye color and structural color that has a "neat" look. These are examples. (As usual here, you can see a larger version by clicking on a photo.) Since white zinnias depend on a particular cellular petal structure, there are also "good" whites and "better" whites. (It is just a coincidence that all of those examples are scabious flowered zinnias. I have been concentrating more on different zinnia flower forms than zinnia colors.) Comments (62)Lost my first post. The Chinese characters are grayed out today. Margaret's was good. I love the goulash. Ron did not care for the special, beef rouladen. He said it wasn't bad, just not memorable. But we brought home the jeager snitzle (I'm not sure of spelling). It is breaded pork cutlet with mushroom gravy. The new owner is Polish. Don't know how the menu will change. It started to rain as soon as we got on the highway to Tulsa. I hate the highways anyway, let alone while raining. Larry, I hope you feel better! You too Danny! And Kim. Dang y'all, there's not enough of us for all this illness. Nancy, the birds sound like geese. Snow geese would be white. White pelicans have black under their wings. Sandhill cranes...there were a bunch at the Great Salt Plains, but most have moved south. H/J, spring pictures appreciated. I need to go, Ron is fidgeting....See MoreElmer J Fudd
