Hi Bigideas87, Yes, I understand a little better the style you are going for. I would say go stark white. Seriously. Go with what you love. Find a white by testing different whites on large pieces of cardboard and leave them around your room for a few days to see which one sings to you. I love Super White by BM. I almost think the brighter, the cooler the white the more the baltic brown counters will look almost black. And embrace those counters despite the fact you detest them, start being nice to them because they might just help you make your kitchen fun. Since they are part of your kitchen make them be a player in your space. Not the star. Check out below there are some browns pulled into the space that make the kitchens almost as pretty as your bathroom image above. With your inspiration photo I see a subway with a dark grout. I say do that! Do a subway with a grout that is a black or dark brown to pull those counters in but give you a more modern feel to the space. Use black modern hardware and light fixtures. Oh Gosh! I'm going though the same thing. I'm leaning towards Simply White in my north-facing room. I know it can read really yellow in a south-facing room but a warm but still really bright in a north facing room with that cool light coming in. I'm afraid Chantilly white will read too stark. I'm painting both my bedroom and kitchen, one on top of the other with the same northern light. Also, I think of it as a color for modern spaces and I live in an old, historic house. Just not sure I can pull it off. Abbyfaye, I'd love to see your pictures! I have simply white in my hallways and like it. Is it weird to have it in my bedroom and kitchen too? I got samples from samplize and white dove comes across really greige/taupe and not very bright. I'm not loving it at all. Mystery to me why it is so popular. I'm losing my mind looking at blogs on the best white paint! Have to make a decision by Thursday!

Paint the laundry doors the same as the wall color. Let your eye move through to the back since you want the cabinets to be the showcase. The hutch color is a nice highlight and it will be the highlight if the laundry door remain in the background. The baseboards and trim are very thin. This might be the perfect scenario to paint the walls and trim the same color in different sheens.

1. The paint swatch does not look good with the counter -- tones in counter are too cool for the warm cream tone of the paint. 2. Are you SURE you want that quartz? I'm not a quartz hater but I gotta say -- that is just visually...over the top...in a counter that is not a natural material. OK I'll just say it -- it looks unnatural and contrived. There's nothing wrong with bold if your entire design is done well, but stick with something nature did if you're going to go that route. Lots of gorgeous granites and quartizites with a wow factor.
