While exploring SW Utah I was able to see this native plant up close, mainly at higher elevations in pine forests. I know nothing about Manzanita, but I'm curious if this shrub is commonly used for ornamental plantings? It seems to have a lot to offer and its tolerance for sandy, acidic soils would make it welcome here. Is anyone growing it in the upper midwest?
