Comments (31)Tim H: I do sound a bit cynical, don't I? I can see both sides here. If the builder promised a seamless installation and screwed it up, he's on the hook. He had a chance to fix it very inconspicuously and blew it. I fix the mistakes on my jobs immediately. I mean stop-what-you're-doing-and-fix-it now immediately. I broke a front sink rail on an estone job several years ago and got it fixed before anyone but me ever knew. The point is, you never give a customer leverage to withhold payment if you don't have to. This builder hasn't learned that lesson yet....See Morewould like your opinion for our kitchen design and Quartzite seam.
Comments (48)@Alohairene if you have to leave your range on the long wall due to ventilation concerns, you might consider something like this (if you don't mind having a sink on your island). This wouldn't be my first choice but obviously ventilation requirements will drive some of your decisions. As for your question about the microwave drawer, I would just make sure it is near the refrigerator, since I primarily use my micro for reheating leftovers. If you use yours differently, think about what might be most convenient for your family. I personally prefer my microwave higher up (an under cabinet mount), but DH and I are tall and don't have to worry about children using it....See MoreQuartzite seam advice
Comments (12)That is the incorrect way to judge it. Industry standard is to stand 36” back from the counter in natural light. It will be more than acceptable, looked at properly, instead of under a microscope....See Morechispa
