When I went to the local Benjamin Moore paint store for paint for my back (interior) stairs , the directed me to Stockholm brand, which is so far doing well. I couldn't understand why....does anyone have a clue ? Here is a link that might be useful: stockholm paint

I plan on painting my interior doors, base moulding and moulding around the doors. I plan on purchasing BM ADVANCED Interior Alkyd but I'm not sure if the finish should be different for the door and moulding. Should I use a semigloss finish on the moulding and a satin on the doors or the same on both? If so the which finish? Does the Satin have a slight shine to it? The color will be an off white. The house was built in 1999 and the paint as sprayed on both molding and doors and in the daylight I can see a slight difference in the sheen. Thanks for the help in advance

In my experience advance is a little more difficult to apply and has a much longer dry time before you can apply the second coat.

Heather, you might get more responses in the paint forum. I just posted something there too about painting oak cabinets (primer issues with Advance). I have been testing the BM Advance. We have 8 interior doors, 10 bi-fold closets, 2 bathroom bathroom vanities, all the trim work in the house along with family room cabinetry. In other words, I have a lot of painting to do. I like the Advance and more information seems available on it then the Pittsburgh. We purchased a sprayer that was tested with the Advance (Earlex 5500) for all the doors. BM colors are more familiar to people on the forums as well. As you will hear time and again, it is all in the prep! Clean, sand, dust, prime, sand ... So many threads on the subject, it can be dizzying! Are you doing this yourself or having a pro do it?
