integrated panel-ready DW advice?
Comments (26)We have this Miele Optima dishwasher: http://www.miele.com/usa/dishwashers/product.asp?cat=2&model=505&series=120&nav=20&snav=70&tnav=73&oT=125 It is very quiet. It has the built-in water softener, which I know you don't need, but you can turn it off from what I understand (we use ours). May seem like a waste for you, but it is still well within your budget. It holds quite a bit. The bottom racks can be modified so you can play around with the configuration to find what best suits your dishes. We had an old Maytag before this one and I think it did hold slightly more, but not much. I really like the cutlery tray (it really only takes a second to put the silverware in there) and I would buy this dishwasher again in a second. The dishes really do turn out beautifully. Oh, and it is fully integrated. Looks perfectly flush with our inset cabinets. Good luck!...See MorePics: Liebherr 36' Integrated SS FD Installed
Comments (25)Just wanted to follow-up to my earlier questions that I did end up ordering the Liebherr 36" for our remodel. However, I ended up order the freestanding CS-2062 instead of the HCS-2062. Our kitchen designer initially wanted to have the 84" HCS-2062 flush into a row of 84" tall cabinets, but I thought the 80" doors with a 4" trim above would give the fridge a more built-in look. Since the fridge would be fully flush, the freestanding would look identical to the fully integrated, except for being $1600 less and having the top of the hinges slightly visible. The appliance saleswoman knew about the door-closing problem, and actually suggested we get the cheaper CS-2062 to avoid it. I thought this meant the freestanding doors would close if I gave it a gentle swing shut, like most fridge doors I know. It doesn't close fully like that, but will if I give it a good solid swing. However, I'm getting used to pushing the doors shut. If I had one gripe with the fridge, it would be the nonsensical "adjustable" door trays. There are three trays on each side, as in loriley's photo, evenly spaced; but none can hold a medium-height jar. If you drop one of the upper ones one notch, you can't put anything in the tray below. Ultimately I would've preferred to give up the height of the "gallon tray" on one door, but you can't drop the lowest tray as there are no more notches. I ended up removing the lowest tray on one door and dropping the 2nd tray one notch. Other than that, we've really liked it in the one month so far. For $5000 to be able to get a fully flush stainless, it's a steal....See More36" fridge, SubZero vs Liebherr
Comments (21)"I was grown up to believe that german technology was second to none." Geeze, I wished you could have taught the 2 mercedes Benzes that I owned that!!!!! After about 10 years of keeping the Service Dept of the Mercedes Benz dealership well financed, I finally got tired of that, and bought a 1993 Cadillac Allante. It has seen the Cadillac Dealer service dept once, and that was to buy and install a battery for it. I have a friend that still buys Mercedes, and after 70,000 miles gets rid of them as He says that's when the repair expenses start to really escalate! I did buy a Miele DW, back in 2006, as it was the ONLY DW, back in 2006 that had the 3rd tray, (cutlery rack). It is rarely used, and has been trouble free, whilst my Electrolux Oven, speed oven, Induction cooktop and wine fridge are used all the time, and are alto trouble free. My Jenn-air fridge has only needed 1 repair about $350, since 2006, You cant even talk to an SZ repair man for that (yeah I'm exaggerating just a little) and I doubt you would be able to get much repaired on a Liebherr fridge for that price either. Moral here, is there are more makes of fridges other than SZ or Liebher. Take a look at some of the Whirlpool products, (Kitchen-Aid, Jenn-air, Whirlpool), Look at some of the GE's. When I had my rentals, I just bought "garden variety fridges", and I never had any problems with them, certainly not the kinds of problems that you see with this new "esoteric Expensive Stuff"! Comments (82)Thanks Lisa - I also have Adorne undercab lighting you can't see in the photo - I have no outlets or plugs on any of my tiles so it's superclean - its all hidden under the cabinets which is really nice - I could post photos but this post is about fridges and not lighting...:) Here's the link to their website http://www.legrand.us/adorne/inspiration/photo-gallery.aspx if you are interested (I don't know how to send you this privately or I would..:)...See MoreJ
