Halloween Festivities (Pictures!)

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fang-tastic Halloween :). It's nice being able to celebrate with folks again. Here's a picture of the roommates, our friends, and myself. Pretty proud of my costume (it got LOTS of compliments-I was the only witch at the party!). Spread was typical party foods, and we had a lot of fun.

Thanks everyone! It was definitely a Halloween to remember (we all love Halloween, too). I didn't make any of my costume this year, save for styling the wig. The rest was from Spirit Halloween, the thrift store, Walmart, Target, and Etsy. I wore it the following night (Halloween) when we had trick or treaters (and people loved the costume there, too).

Lars, he's holding an orb. Do you have any pictures of your costumes?

My roommates are (from left to right in the front "V" formation): in plain clothes (far left), the werewolf (kneeling), The Goblin King, the vampire (their girlfriend is at their knee as their ward/victim), and myself as Winifred Sanderson. Actually, I thought the best costume was The Goblin King, but I appreciate all the compliments for mine!

You are definitely the most creative in the group. Perhaps you could have helped some of the others, or maybe next time. I've helped a lot of people with costumes myself, and Halloween used to be one of the busiest times for me when I lived in San Francisco.

The Goblin King also did do a good job on his costume, and he is very convincing and recognizable. Is he holding just an orb, or is that the top end of a sword?

I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I retired, but I used to do it at work, as well as for parties. The last costume I wore was Bavarian mountain climber, and I wore my knee-length lederhosen with the Bavarian socks, shoes, and shirt, plus a Tyrolean hat. Of course I can wear that for Oktoberfest as well, and it does not really seem like a costume to me. I also have a nicely carved Bavarian walking stick that has a bird's head on it.

Wonderful looking group and fabulous costume Brad! I love putting together a costume but don't have any real people to celebrate with. I'd love to be around a crowd like yours :-) belated happy halloween!

Brad, I've not been good about taking photos of my costumes, but here are a few:

Bavarian mountain climber, 2014 - I did not make this, and it's not much of a costume. This is not the Bavarian cane, as that cane did not arrive from Germany in time.

Costume that I made from scraps of zebra hides, leftover from upholstery department at work. This was for the fetish ball in L.A.

Same costume, plus I made the skirt for the woman in the blue wig. This is also my blue wig, and she is also wearing my shirt and belt. These are from my house in Venice, circa 1998, I think. These photos are scanned, and so I cannot be sure when they were taken.
