Halloween Festivities (Pictures!)

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a fang-tastic Halloween :). It's nice being able to celebrate with folks again. Here's a picture of the roommates, our friends, and myself. Pretty proud of my costume (it got LOTS of compliments-I was the only witch at the party!). Spread was typical party foods, and we had a lot of fun.

Pictures from UC Irvine Pitaya festival 2007 last saturday
Comments (2)Gary, I did go and got to taste many varieties from UC Irvine University plantation and also from some other growers that brought samples. Some from Florida and some from California. They had a few yellow Pitayas. In my opinion, it tasted good. It had a sweet taste, very refreshing but small in size. Some commented that due to the size and comparable taste to some of the better and bigger Pitayas, it was not worth the trouble growing it. Keep in mind that some of this people are in the business of making money and size is priority. I persanally liked the Magenta fleshed better. Although it depends on the cultivar. Some magentas there tasted better than others. Red Dragon Fruit company had a white fleshed called Pearl that tasted very good also. Condor variety from Edgar Valdivia out of Southern California was my favorite (Magenta Hybrid). UC Irvine also had cuttings of various varieties which they allowed us to take. Comments (12)Thanks for the warm welcome and birthday wishes! Yes, our house is new (hence the empty front porch). We parted ways with our builder about 3 months before finishing the house--so we were left with finishing silly little details like a PORCH RAILING. Until that's installed, there will be no relaxing on the front porch! dining_delight, I love partylite (and SLAH) and yes, those are partylite pieces in the built ins. I still have some things that haven't made it to the new house yet that I can't wait to display. jamie_mt, Your post made me laugh. I meant that I don't do "staging" as in...putting things together in a professional manner. I love pretty things...but man I can't figure out where they should go or how they should be displayed. So, as for my pictures. I had just put away all the folded laundry that draped over the chaise lounge and ottoman...I swept my floors and fluffed my pillows...YET SOMEHOW managed to overlook the one lone sock hiding under the couch in EVERY PICTURE! LOL. Oh, and I also had to crop part of my kitchen island out of one shot so you guys wouldn't see the clutter. There is only one room in my house that stays clean and that's the laundry room. I've been following the ice festival for years after a friend, who lived near Harbin on Sakhalin, a small island off the coast of Russia, went there a couple of times. Bavarian mountain climber, 2014 - I did not make this, and it's not much of a costume. This is not the Bavarian cane, as that cane did not arrive from Germany in time.
Costume that I made from scraps of zebra hides, leftover from upholstery department at work. This was for the fetish ball in L.A.
Same costume, plus I made the skirt for the woman in the blue wig. This is also my blue wig, and she is also wearing my shirt and belt. These are from my house in Venice, circa 1998, I think. These photos are scanned, and so I cannot be sure when they were taken.- 4 years ago
