Quartz Countertop placement/quality...your opinion
Comments (23)Great job, Trebuchet! Thanks everyone. My husband contacted the owner today, and lo and behold he's on vacation! Surprise, surprise. So he had to talk to #2 in charge, who was the guy I originally talked to when I signed the estimate. They gave my husband many excuses as to why the seam had to go there....mainly that the countertop is heavy and it would not have been possible to maneuver it over the half wall with the moulding that sticks out an inch, or some such nonsense.. I could have had that moulding easily removed, if they had taken the time to call and ask me, He never said why they did a poor job on the seam in the first place. I think you guys are awesome, and many of you were "right on" with the end result. I've learned a lot. Hopefully, my backsplash will outshine the seam and make it less of an eye sore. Put a fork in it, ladies and gents, 'cause I am done!...See MoreNice White Quartz Seam
Comments (4)Oh, but it’s just so awful! There’s 1/4 shade difference in the slabs. And you can see the seam! Plus there’s those two light spots that are so in your face. I want all brand new counters free of charge while an on site masseuse rubs my shoulders and a pedicurist paints my nails....See MoreSeams on white quartz bathroom counter
Comments (5)Whites with swirls are notoriously difficult to seam, making the use of a Seam Phantom, pictured above, even more important. Can they be made better? Certainly. Does he want to do them over? Absolutely not. They aren't good, but they aren't horrible either. You're in a position of strength here, sitting on the balance. Once he pays the sixteen hundred bucks, he'll never have this problem again. He won't like the taste of the medicine, but you're doing him a favor if you make him do-over....See Moreare these quartz seams acceptable?
Comments (8)What’s a 0-radius corner? It's another term for an internal corner that is a sharp 90-degree angle, i.e. there is no curve to it. The sharp 90-degree angle can be more prone to chips and cracks is my understanding, but I am not a Pro. Perhaps one of the Pro counter people like @joseph_corlett will chime in. Edited to add a couple pics of sinks with more rounded corners to illustrate. Many people like the look of sharp 90-degree corners, but it may mean more of risk of chipping like I mentioned....See MoreAnna (6B/7A in MD)
