The TASK outlets just look to be angled power strips. Nothing there that would be tripping all the time. Sometimes you're just working against the inertia of the trades people; the "we haven't done that before" or "we don't do it that way" mentality. Maybe show the contractor & electrician a picture of what you want so they can just see it's an angled outlet.

Why are these TASK outlets superior? A backsplash outlet might be hidden by a countertop appliance, all cords would hang down from a TASK outlet, and a backsplash outlet would be more easily reached when plugging in, say, a portable mixer.

We have them in our kitchen, no problem with them tripping. Regarding cords dangling I leave my Nespresso machine plugged in & the height of it hides almost all except right under the cabinet. My kitchen is very modern, so the clean look of no outlets on backsplash works for me. Everyone lives differently, I dont leave other appliances out full time.

This is why i dont like them. standard outlets behind appliances look better and cleaner.

Lol, it takes me all of 2 seconds at most, to plug my Nespresso in. I like a clean uncluttered look, no toasters or mixers, etc. living full time on my counters.

I agree with Dave. I put them into my new build, and I don't like how the appliance cords look 'going up' the backsplash.

We have had Task angled plugmold all over our kitchen for several years. No problems whatsoever. I would definitely use it again. We have two regular horizontal outlets in a small area where the Keurig lives as it stays plugged in so no dangling cord.

We use them ALL the time on our jobs...but mostly for island outlets tucked under the countertop overhang. We've never had them trip a lot.

I did have one client complain at how hard they were to plug in. It's called Tamper resistance regulation and all outlets are like this. Makes it harder for a kid to stick a fork in it.

I like the use of them along with lowering the outlets.

We have outlet strips that run the full length of all upper cabinets, integrated into the back side and flush with the board under the uppers. They are a dream!

No outlets showing everywhere (long counter runs), and small appliances are only plugged in during use, so hiding the cord isn't a long-term issue…hiding the outlets would be.

Our only outlet on the backsplash is for our hard-plumbed Kuerig, which stays plugged in all the time, and that one is always hidden by the appliance itself.
