Is it a flat-panel or rear projection LCD? I ask b/c if it's rear projection, you'll need to make sure it's deep enough to fit the TV. Another thing to consider is all the open shelving. Are you OK with your electronics showing all the time along with having things to display on the open side shelves? Where will you store your DVDs? I'd need more measurements. I'd want to make sure the interiors of the drawers would hold plenty of DVDs b/c I don't like mine to show. I'd also want to make sure the center shelf dimensions were long/tall/deep/wide enough to hold my electronic equipment b/c you can't tell from that picture. I think it would be a lovely piece when refinished and with glass inserts.

I grew up in a small town in Ohio. Our drive was not paved, we put the ashes from the furnace on the drive in the winter. We also burned leaves on the drive way. Our chicken coop was not abandoned, no chickens; but it was used as dad's workshop and storage for garden things like strawberry baskets and bushel baskets for the pears and apples. Along with tools and fertilizers. I loved that place. We had a large veggie garden and had one deep freezer devoted to frozen veggies and a fruit cellar for canned items (pickles and pie filling). When products were in season, the phone would ring. one of the neighbors who 'ordering' corn or apples or berries or whatever was in season, and my sister and I would use our little red wagon to deliver the produce and collect the money. I don't know if that qualified as my first job. Once each autumn we split a cow with neighbors, we got about a side of beef. That went into the other deep freezer. That one was special because it also held our ice cream stash. The neighbors immediately north of us had been friendly with our family for many years. Using the back door, we never knocked, but walked right in. However, if using the front door, we were polite and knocked and waited. Jim

Annette Holbrook(z7b), I will have to get dimensions later as I'm not home at the moment. It's not a deep room. One of the benefits of changing the TV location is that we could move the couch into the recess where the TV media stand now sits. If the TV were mounted over the fireplace it would allow for more space between the couch and the TV. If we were to go this route, then I think we'd need to add something like this behind the couch. We still need a spot for the digital receiver. And we could put forward facing shelves on the end of the sofa table. It would need to be deeper than the one below, but something similar. Here are the listing photos from three years ago. NOTE: not our furnishings. Looking at these photos, I'd think there is plenty of room but that's not the case.

I may get another mirror table top but I still need the big mirror for my hair and things. a lil mirror will not do just for my makeup etc. I always said the writting desk was going to be use as vanity and act as a area you can use for your laptop. I agree with the console table. I am thinking about doing like a rectangular gold dish and a orchid plant. I wanted him to place the TV at that height just in case I was going to add some type of tall vase or pillars candles.
