It's one of the many 1920s houses with Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean influences. They do well with a bit of William Morris and Craftsman styling in the interior, and what we call "rustic modern". Creamy walls, wood floors with oriental rugs and clean lined comfy furniture. They can also go straight "Santa Fe" with vivid colors, painted furniture, and cushy furniture. Eclectic, boho, shabby chic, cottage ... they all work in a 20s house. The worst styling is what you say you will avoid - the heavy 1960s version of "Meditteranean" with the dark wood and cut velvet ... that was ugly. MCM is a hard decor to pull off in these, as is East coast traditional upper class.

I think the easiest path to loading pictures on this forum is thru Photobucket.com. After you get your picture uploaded to your Album in Photobucket, which is easy because it shows you step by step what to do, you simply place you cursor on the picture and a little menu pops up. Click on "HTML Code" and immediately a yellow box pops up that says "copied". What you have done is parked your picture on Photobucket and copied the address where it *lives*. You can then open a "Message" window here on this forum and PASTE in the HTML Code which is the address where your picture now *lives*. Becareful not to delete any brackets or details from the HTML Code. Leave a couple returns (lnes or spaces) above and below the HTML Code. You can type your "Message" above or below the code. I'm tired of the "south Florida Flamingo pink" lol and am looking to update to a more "modern-ish" color scheme while keeping the house feel of "beachy/Bahamas" feel. Having difficulty matching with the peach tile roof! TIA for your help! Below is a better picture with the roof recently cleaned.... Oh and we love teal as maybe a door or shutter or some sort of accent color....

I would consider white with light gray trim, and leave the brick for now. Tons of South Florida homes are white and light gray, but don’t have the red brick. It will look good, maybe farmhouse, but not beachy. As mentioned, you can make it tropical with vegetation. The white would make the color in the vegetation pop. Maybe do a visualization with white paint, light gray trim and tropical foliage with some of the brick colors in the foliage. In the meantime, google images for white South Florida homes, and maybe white Florida Keys homes. I would change the front door too. Maybe do something with the porch rails and floor later. One step at a time. I’m thinking white posts and no rails, but the other decisions once executed will help you figure that out. This one has red brick pavers in the driveway and slate blue accents. This one has a terra cotta roof and looks a little like your pics. This one has a red brick skirt and steps, with rails like yours.
