Hi jenny: how do I like the faucet? Well I really like this one a lot for the purpose I am using it for. It is installed on my island for the smallish prep sink. It is a bit dainty looking for our main sink which is a very large (36") single bowl stainless apron sink. For the larger sink we have the bridge faucet by franke which belongs to the same suite as the 3 paddle I showed. The larger one I have had a couple of quality issues I don't think I should have encountered with a $1200 (at the time) faucet. The smaller one no issues. As for ease of plumbing: that sort of depends on a few factors. The pipe itself is an absolute breeze to run as it is very flexible small diameter pipe. I am in the fortunate situation where I have completly open access into all ceilings and walls as my entire house had been gutted and is being rebuilt so I am able to plan for these things ahead and it makes it simple. If you need to start taking apart walls/ceilings/floors etc in order to run the pipe that is when things get at least very messy and maybe even challenging to some. An RO system has a pressurized storage tank which may give you enough pressure at your faucet, but if not then you will need a pump to help deliver the water. I wouldn't say the pump is difficult if you take your time and follow instructions etc. I hope it all works out well for you. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. No dumb questions here.

Jenny, Any update on what you ended up doing? I installed a whole house softener for hard water issues, but I have odor issues (sulfur and chlorine mostly). I'm leaning toward adding a charcoal filter before the softener. We also have RO in the kitchen and wet bars. Also, you could always just have another hole drilled for the RO faucet without replacing the granite slab. If you have an undermounted sink, the new hole is all you need. What did you end up doing?

We have a private well, and currently get water delivery for drinking and coffee! Once we remodel we are going with the kinetico RO filter...not cheap, but will give us 1 spout at the faucet for drinking, cooking if we want, coffee (a must!), and another line for the fridge water. I think this system runs 1300 or so?? But the softened well water is too yucky to drink (IMO), and then we don't have the hassle of 5gal bottles and a dispenser any longer! I love the 3 sink idea, my space is not even big enough to justify 3, let alone 3, but I am going to store that baby away for the future---I have a dedicated "coffee" area in my kitchen---no matter how small it is--I love my coffee!

We have the water filter at the main sink. Not only is it closer to the glasses; it's closer to the espresso machine and tea things and to the baking center. That's convenient for making bread dough. We also find other advantages to having it at the main sink. Ours is instant hot water as well as cool. When cleaning just a pot or two, it is convenient to add some hot water from it to the tap water to get warm water for washing instead of waiting for the hot tap water to arrive (and it saves water). Someone who needs water doesn't have to disturb someone using the prep sink. For example, getting rice started while someone else preps for a stir fry.
