Franke Group Leaving the Faucet Business

For owners and prospective buyers of Franke and KWC faucets:

In March 2021 Franke divested itself of KWC and its two Water Systems divisions in a sale for an undisclosed amount to Equistone Partners Europe, a private equity firm representing several investment funds.

The sale probably signals the end of Franke's faucet business.

Patrik Wohlhauser, CEO of Franke Group explained that the sale permitted Franke to concentrate its resources on its main businesses of selling residential and commercial sinks, fo equipment, and its coffee systems, areas in which it is already an industry leader.

The transition will be nearly invisible to the retail market. Equistone will continue to use the Franke name for a time – how long a time has not been revealed. It will take over Franke's extensive distribution network, manufacturing facilities, and R&D centers in Switzerland, China, the UAE, Germany, Finland, and the UK.

Right now very little is know about how Equistone intends to develop its new faucet business. At this time it does not even have a name. But, we do know that Equistone is an active manager, not just a passive investor, so changes are certain to be coming.

The Franke warranty on faucets sold prior to the change in ownership will be honored by the new owners.
