jean--check out the Plastpro all fiberglass flush glazed doors if any of your exterior doors have a window in them. They come with or without blinds between the glass and in wood grain or smooth texture. The big thing about these doors is how the glass is mounted in the door--it looks alot like the expensive French/patio doors from Pella, Marvin, Jeld-Wen, etc without the expensive part, no aluminum that can be dented, and no cheap looking plastic frame around the window part that will yellow over time that you so often see on less expensive doors. Finished! I really like the way it turned out. I painted the down spouts as suggested, painted the front patio and walkway a darker green (with sand for traction), of course I removed the shutters, replaced the 4-panel hideous front entry door with a two-panel door, added a Baldwin solid brass/polished nickel door knocker (very heavy) that was ridiculously over-priced at $80, added a Baldwin Evolve handleset (embarrassed at its cost)—same finish, Baldwin calls it “lifetime brass”. Removed the ceiling fan and replaced with matching porch lights controlled with Alexa and Smarthings, painted the garage door the same color as the siding, repainted the garage lights and decorative “A”, touched up and repaired where necessary..Wa-la! Real proud, thx all!

People have storm doors because, they open doors and pull down the screen for air. A storm door has a security lock on it, for safety. Phantom screens are wrecked by children and pets go right through them and can escape your property and end lost or worse. I personally, would never ever be without storm doors on my house. I have very nice wood doors, and they are original to the house and still in excellent condition because they were protected with storm doors.
