Has anyone actually seen Mayor of Munchkin Land growing well in the North? I know that "north" is a bit nebulous, but would be interested in responses. Lots of Herringtons and Elliots in this year's awards. Of course, I generally pay little attention.

Honorable Mention:

Highest vote getter was Halloween Green (Herrington)

Angel in Oz (Herrington)

Mr. and Mr.s Bubbs (Douglas)

IB Little (Elliot)

Gone with the Wine (Elliot)

Dr. Jerrold Corbett (Stamile)

Little Boss Man (Herrington)

Tribute to the Mayor (Netherton)

Debary Canary (Stamile 2006)

Pink Lemonade Pary (Salter 2006) Didn't do well here, though Debra raves about it.

Tipsy Butler (Sandy Holmes)

Lily's Golden Curls (Waldrop)

Sherry Candy (Stamile 2006) poor performance here

Sultry Girls (Davisson) many of hers are better

Anam Cara (Waterman)

Buddy's Gloris (Hall)

Pinwheel Princess (E. Salter 2010)

A Groovy Kind of Love (Douglas)

Bluegrass Horse Feathers (S. Holmes)

Cosmic Blast (Salter 2011)

Lillian's Hot and Spicy (Manning)

Ruffled Vintage Burgundy (krupien 1992)

Big Boy Butterfly (Pierce 2017)

Spacecoast Scarlet Desire (Kinnebrew-Gossard 2018)

AWARD of MERIT from high to low: Explosion in the Paint Factory, Tim Herrington (Elliot), Opa Klaus (Waldrop), Boss Hogg (Douglas), Bluegrass Memories, Joan Jackson (Kirchhoff 2010), Stenciled Infusion, Jen Melon (Oakes 87), Spacecoast Chomp! Chomp!, Humungousaur (Gossard), Cameroons Twister (Benz 2000), Yankee Pinstripes (Howard 13). ANNIE GILES: Tim Herrington (Elliot), EXTRA LARGE DIAMETER: Eminent Domain (Owen), HARRIS OLSON SPIDER: Midnight in Oz (Herrington K.),

LAMBERT/WEBSTER: Sebastian on Steroids (Elliot), IDA MUNSON (Raspberry Ripple Cupcake (Herrington), EUGENE FOSTER: Ghost Ranger (Elliot), EARLY SEASON: Darth Ciduous (Elliot), R. W. MUNSON JR.: Yankee Pinstripes (Howard), DON C. STEVENS: Hot Atlanta (Waldrop). LENINGTON ALL AMERICAN: Dances with Giraffes (Reed). Why did I go through all this effort?

It seems to me too that cultivars generally didn't win the Stout until they were at a price range that was fairly affordable. Rose F. Kennedy was around $50 when it won (how I regret having bought it), but Mayor of Munchkinland still goes for over $100.
